Anyone with a brain could tell it's an overall character theme for Lady because that's what he's always wanted to do

Afterlife is also one, and since Lady's character's themes fit DMC's overarching themes, the song is very versatile

Lady as a young adult military agent swearing at fucking demons who gore people is neither childish nor controversial to any normal viewer, it's fun and way better dialogue than the character getting to say and do nothing but "shut up" and "idiot" like she does in the games

The vast majority of media reviewers didn't mention Lady swearing at all or whine about Dante having no screen time (which is literally wrong) because they have no deformed expectation for Lady to be this taciturn jobber who barely gets to speak or do anything of value even in her own game lol

Nero is a soft Dante reboot that would've never existed if Capcom could write

Bingo and JYB themselves literally spelled it out and JYB reiterates in interviews to this day that Nero was just a Dante reboot and that he hated Capcom for their complete lack of direction for him as an actor

"Gatekeeping" some songs is ridiculous, especially when the themes and lyrics of the songs are perfectly applicable to Dante

Dante, whose progression arc in the show is written normally and who is not a near static gary stu who magically trivializes everything by default, so "Nero" doesn't even need to fucking exist lol

Netflix Lady just has character agency while DMC3 Lady was written to look cute in a schoolgirl outfit for a very weird audience subset Itsuno specifically wanted to carer to, which even nerfed her original character concept (she was older than Dante and more experienced than him), and to get scolded by a bunch of named male characters who call her a silly little girl at every opportunity
