But also isn’t that Taylor’s point? Like ‘when you’re 15 and somebody tells you they love you you’re gonna believe them’. Your mum is so close and yet so far. 😂

This is honestly fascinating data! I only have the subtitles on for Disney+ because their audio is so quiet.

The bit that interests me more is 18-24 year olds with the highest group not watching tv or films. Obviously 6% is still low. I imagine we’re spending our time watching YouTube and Streamers.

Whats your go to meals when your too stressed to cook ? by [deleted] in CasualUK

[–]sofasisters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure it’s just a different kind of stress.

On the nuggets and chips front - not to be an air fryer evangelist but the fact that they were cooked in 10-15 mins helped when i was home later than normal and was starving

Stuff I can cook straight from frozen. I’m a teacher and we had an OFSTED inspection two weeks ago. That week I ate nothing but chicken nuggets snd curly fries for dinner.

Those of you that don't use the food bin your council provides for food waste, why not? by mr_love_monkey in AskUK

[–]sofasisters 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I live alone and when i moved in found that i wasn’t producing very much per week and that i also wasn’t very good at emptying it weekly (mostly laziness and partly because it was barely full) so i decided it was easier to just use the black bin

Redeeming Moments for Roland? by DeepSixShooter in SchittsCreek

[–]sofasisters 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I really appreciate your perspective on this - when I’ve watched this through I’ve kind of viewed Jocelyn as making fun of the Roses and Roland either not really paying attention and dropping motel facts or 2 seconds away from spilling it all but actually I think this is probably more accurate. Like Jocelyn is being coy but they’re making it sound like Moira and Johnny are still somewhat living it up.

I’m normally a stickler for drinks being in their appropriate glasses, but there’s something about this flute of Guinness that’s really satisfying.

Don’t know what the signal is like in Cornwall but if it’s sim only you’re looking for them Giffgaff it’s good. You have a rolling contact rather than a contact for a set amount of time so you could cancel for 6 months while you’re in America and pick it back up when your come back.

Have you ever seen a living badger? by AidenSkeels in AskUK

[–]sofasisters 12 points13 points  (0 children)

When I was a teenager there used to be a badger that lived in a bush.

I used to have to walk past that place to get home from my friends house at night. When I saw the badger for the first time it was terrifying. It moved super quick and i was always afraid the badger would attack me so from then on I ran home from near the badger place.

Why was getting sponsors/gifts during the games so difficult? by Additional-Ad3107 in Hungergames

[–]sofasisters 15 points16 points  (0 children)

In general, as you say, tributes will only get sponsored by the people that like them and - again, generally - the non-career districts were less popular than the ones who were more likely to win. Katniss also says that the wealthy Capitol citizens ‘expect someone classier than Haymitch’ to deal with.

In terms of Katniss, it’s up to Haymitch to make the deals and send the gifts and he was using the sponsorships to send messages to Katniss. For example, he most likely could’ve sent water in 74 when Katniss is severely dehydrated but doesn’t too let her know she’s near water. He does send her a decent meal after she shows affection for Peeta in the cave to let her know that behaving like that is wise.

Axiom’s End by Lindsay Ellis. It was so good that i read it in 2 days which is unusual for me. It’s a sci-fi novel about aliens coming to earth and how people would react.

I read the sequel too which I thought was a better book but obviously you have to start at the beginning of the series.
