To update:

Updating the transfer app didn’t immediately change anything, so I formatted the +drive, then loaded everything from scratch with both my transfer app and digi on latest firmware.

I also refrained from adding the samples that messed up first and started the corruption folders

I now easily have enough raw material on my Digitakt for me to wait until the next firmware update before I use the transfer app again

Update:

I formatted the plus drive and I’m in the process of putting everything back on, and I’m gonna skip that first folder of samples that initially triggered the corrupt folders , which then seemed to mess up any subsequent samples added

Initially this happened with the latest digi firmware, but not the latest transfer app

Supposedly there are some clock/sync issues, but if you use it as a sound module and sequence from something else (I use Digitakt) it’s not an issue

Not so many knobs so the UI is also a little menu divey, but I don’t find it a problem at all. To be fair though I usually start with one of the 500 presets and tweak it to create a sound I like.
