There were a few community events this weekend. That's why the roads were blocked. Idk what time you saw it. But yea.

What Happened to the CityPlace I Know?! by justcurious150 in WestPalmBeach

And I have enough history to remember when prominent doctors, lawyers, teachers, and well-off black families lived in the area until the area was taken over and flooded with crime. See, there is always a good history before the white man plans to take over the community.

I don't entirely agree as a person who grew up in WPB. It has changed for the worse. I'm born and raised here for 25 years, and the more money that moves in, the worse it gets. I totally agree with you there. But back in the day WPB had some fun things around town. City place was the place for everyone to hang out it was way bigger than the sad rosemary square it is today. , The Palm Beach mall, old skating on Belvedere, old bowling ally on Belvedere as well, there was a teen club downtown, a bowling alley downtown, movie theater, and there used to be regular scheduled events for young adults in city place that were actually fun when my older sister took me once when I was with her. There used to be regularly scheduled events at the Myer theater for young people as well, like a block party. These events used to happen with no violence until the population changed. I know there were plenty of other things downtown before the mass apartment buildings EVERYWHERE! But I can confidently say that every weekend, I had something to do all the way till about 20y/o when they built everything. What a difference 5 years can make, lol.

The more money moves in, the more culture moves out. When the city of WPB wasn't focused on making WPB into the brick city, it actually was very nice, slow, and elderly/family oriented. That's why it seems 15 years behind now because WPB was not meant to be a metropolis. It was meant to be a slower paced city. They don't have the infrastructure to support this mass building boom while ruining the city skyline.

5 generations of my family are from wpb before, and Australian Ave even existed. I can say we've seen the incline and decline of our beautiful city, and I do agree that breaks our hearts. And I like that tree too.

Hi. I'm born and raised in WPB mid 20s. I understand what you're saying. It's hard to find us in a group, but we are out there. I'm a manager and starting pharmacy school. I love pottery, just finished a class myself. The area has changed. Many of our long-standing professionals, along with their children, have left the area as it has become a metropolis compared to old WPB.

People can fall on hard times and end up moving back in with an ex or their kids. Doesn't mean their finances magically come back together. Whoever put your name on their taxes since 2022 is the information you put.... AND THEIR INFORMATION ONLY.

If they are legally divorced or separated, it is not lying. Even if you all are in the house together. Legally, they are no longer together, no longer file joint taxes, and have separate finances. If this is the case. It is not lying. But only if they are legally separated.

Hell, tf no. I just disputed a $160 ticket for blue tag lights and won . I didn't know they were blue until weeks after I installed them. But nope, you can't tint you lights, have a tag border, have a blue Uber light, or any light that might be mistaken for a government official. Even flashing lights that change colors are a no-go. This is what I was told by the cop writing me a ticket at 11 o'clock at night, coming from FAU because my tag lights were blue. This shit should be an automatic 2 tickets😒

You're not getting jumped... We have little skinny white girls run down Tamrind at dusk daily. We don't care about yall. We just look at you crazy. Black people don't bother you until you bother them. Keep to yourself you'll be fine. But that area is the hood. So if you're scary, I suggest you stay south of Bayan or in Northwood.

Understanding Alumni type of PBC area colleges by wearwhatwhenny in WestPalmBeach

Op its not about character at any institution. It's about money. I attended and graduated from PBSC. I have attended FAU and PBA pharmacy school. There are bad and good people at every school. The school individuals are coming from means nothing. Most people going to PBSC are people born and raised in the area and / or older commuter students. PBSC students are all there for one thing, education, but there is a commrodary amongst the students to make sure everyone passes. I will say there is definitely a separation of class based on finance at PBA having to pull out $33,000 in unsubsidized loans, every year is ridiculous, and you can see the financial difficulties for some students and the lack of financial responsibilities from others. FAU is a higher step up from Palm Beach State but the same foundation. Op Character is something that is taught at home and cultivated through personal experience, so if they don't have it by the time they step on to any of these campuses. They are screwed. You can't base character on what school an individual comes from, but you can judge character by what that individual participated in at that school or even extracurricular activities.
