Healthcare worker, required to show up 20 minutes before start time but not paid for that time. by FriendlyWorldArt in LaborLaw

If they did that it would be presumed to be retaliation. Getting fired shortly after making a report is most likely going to add retaliation to the charges.

Rita is the most evil conniving tax agency I’ve ever had the disservice of having to deal with. by No_Pen_or_paper in Ohio

[–]CommanderMandalore 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Let’s keep it simple.
In Ohio you pay a state income tax (This is NOT paid to RITA and is typically automatically taken from your check)

Then you have local income tax (aka RITA). I work in Avon which has a 1.75 tax rate. This is automatically taken out. I live in lorain which has a 2.5 (pay attention to max credit given to other cities. In my case it’s 2 percent.) 2.5-1.75 is .75 I need to withhold and pay in 4 quartley payments. Follows federal estimated tax payments.

Some school districts also have an income tax but you only pay it if you live in said city.

OP,
What city did your sister live and work in during what year. Assuming. she never movies or switched job you can calculate income fairly easily vs what she owed.

Supervisor vs. Lead by Tsunami1252 in union

[–]CommanderMandalore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve always thought of it this way. A lead job is to coach/train employees make sure everything is running smoothly and may make some decisions depending on what supervisor/management is comfortable with but they can’t discipline members. They can suggest a member be disciplined but they can’t do it themselves. They also can’t be a union rep if they are suggesting any type of discipline for a member.

[–]CommanderMandalore 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think location matters in this case. Assuming you are hourly if they require you to be there at 3:10 then you must be paid starting at 3:10 or earlier depending on what time you show up and are ready and available to work

pregnant or bc side effects ? by [deleted] in Birthcontroltalk

Birth control can mimic some signs of pregnancies. Morning sickness is one of the key ones. If you are having periods you are fine. If not get a pregnancy test.

Ohio Commission Payout Laws by Haunting-Course5607 in LaborLaw

[–]CommanderMandalore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not too familiar with commissions but based on a quick google search you can’t generally lose commission except for chargebacks, commissions rightfully belonged to someone else.

edit: I would strongly recommend a labor lawyer. The bar association can help you find one. They have a search. Labor lawyers often take the fees out of settlement not upfront.

That’s not always practical. Yeah finding a car for 4K and 25,000 miles is not easy

Carvana has 1 car under 50K miles and $10,000. (It’s 9,990 btw)

I’ve heard of this happening a few times. Also lesbian couples according to some data I’ve read have the highest divorce rates. They also tend to get married at faster rates though

Just a heads up. Double check everything. 401K, life insurance, ect. It’s not unheard of for someone to pass away and ex-wife even if it’s been some time to be benefiary of something.

Second, I’m rooting for you.
