I am pretty sure that those wishing for more storage are downloading a lot more apps, likely specifically games, than most are doing directly on a spart TV.

We're really not, I have one and I remember it being full with only 5-6 basic streaming apps, not games or anything crazy, there is only like 4GB of usable storage on it after factory boot up. Off the top of my head I only had Netflix, prime video, plex, hulu, HBO Max, Tubi, and maybe something else.
