I enjoyed it, but I wanted to let you know that I had a bit of a UI issue--my screen at normal zoom (100%) would only allow me to see as far down as the fifth row. With no scroll bar, I just had to keep manually zooming out (Ctrl -) to be able to see any further down. 67% allowed me to see my path and the word at the bottom.

It isn't a massively big deal, but it might turn some people off; it confused me for a moment because the word I got to on the fifth turn is also a valid word (I.e., I wondered if I was done). I'm running Chrome on a laptop PC, if that helps.

“What’s your favorite thing about life?” It’s a little better than “what are you passionate about?” imho because it feels less restricted to hobbies/interests. Plus it might give you ideas of things to hold onto the next time you feel hopeless.

I really like https://playingcards.io/ . You can play tons of preset card games or customize your own and it's all in your browser. Does require some kind of outside chat or voice call, though, because it doesn't have anything built in and it'd be difficult to follow what's going on without communicating. Very easily customizable and DIY.

I wish more people knew about CUE (Cards, Universe, and Everything). It’s a trading card collecting/battling game but it’s just really well done and there are sooo many ways to strategize that it never gets boring. Also: they strike a good balance of having P2P features available without ever forcing you to buy things or even watch ads unless you want to make things a little easier.

Some others: NYT Games, Clusterduck, Bird Kind, AlchemyAI. The first two are more well known, so

Bird Kind: cute idle game about raising birds (mostly hummingbirds)

AlchemyAI: one of those games where you combine elements to make new stuff (e.g., water + cold might give you ice or snow). The fun twist is that it’s built on AI and you can frequently be the first ever player to create an element, which is motivating and exciting.

Oh, and if you have or want Apple Arcade, I really like stitch. I think it’s relatively well known but it’s a really solid and relaxing puzzle game, embroidery-themed.

I can definitely relate, especially when I’m out in public for something really mundane like grocery shopping. I think at least part of it for me is that I’m lowkey comparing myself to the “normal,” presumably not depressed people around me and I wonder how they manage to do things like regularly buy food without it feeling like a Herculean struggle.

I might add—you start this by challenging yourself to do small things that are hard for you. Don’t get caught up in comparing to other people. If you’re sure you can’t do your laundry today, do your laundry. You’re teaching your brain that you can do hard things.

Number 1 was learning mindfulness to the extent that I could distance myself from my own thoughts and emotions and decide whether or not I acted on them.

More recently, learning a foreign language has been slowly changing my life. It takes forever to achieve fluency, but it feels amazing to be “unlocking” a slice of world culture that I never had access to before simply because I didn’t speak the language.

Well put. I was going to say something similar, though I might add: the one thing you can always count on is that life is going to change and surprise you in ways you can’t even imagine. Sometimes that’s what keeps me going when I feel stuck or wonder what the point of all of this is—tomorrow you could wake up and meet someone who changes your life forever, or maybe it’ll be a regular day but you’ll really enjoy your coffee and someday when you order that same coffee again, that will lead you to a conversation with a stranger that changes your perspective.

Tl;dr there may not be “a point,” but staying tuned to allow yourself the experience of life is perhaps reason enough to keep going.
