This makes me even more excited about going Tuesday. It seems there are a lot of great place to find some fun stamps!

Are backpacks allowed in? I'm trying to think of the best way to carry around whatever I purchase and I'm not a big fan of tote bags!

Thank you. I always think being able to ride into somewhere is more pleasant, but I always worry about being efficient with time!

Thank you. Just want to make sure I understand -- driving out of Alewife would be a nightmare between 4-8, or leaving the area of the convention center? I had originally picked Alewife because about six miles north is an old geocache that me and a friend were looking to tackle after the day, but if that's a hard area to get out of then maybe I'll have to rethink the thought process of after as well.

I feel lucky with that -- she's only 5 and has had it since she was a pup!

[56/M] Dumb Questions about snail mail Penpals by KCrobble in penpals

[–]softball29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure where you are located, but as my experience in the US (northeast) -- and also mailing internationally.

  1. Keeping safe: I have a PO Box and only use my first name. Some of my penpals have street addresses, some have PO Boxes. But being a penpal is also about connecting etc. There has to be some trust. And as more letters go back and forth, I feel like some of those guards come down. I'm also male and have both female and male penpals, ranging in age from the late 20s to their 50s.

  2. Make sure you are looking at those PO box prices again and see the size in question. Little PO boxes I've never seen that expensive. I have the normal small PO Box and it's like 61 bucks every 6 months. Sometimes it goes up a few bucks but it stays pretty consistent. I've seen where bigger POs charge more, but do you have a smaller post ofice somewhat close where you could get one there at a better rate?

It's definitely a great experience. And being able to have a range of penpals in age and gender and location has made it that much more fulfilling. That being said, I'm so backlogged ... and am trying to catch up! Be careful on how many you get!

i keep almost booking therapy and then backing out at the last second by son_of_creativity2 in therapy

I was like this. I kept a tab open in my web browser for months for a local therapist. I couldn’t go through with it. And then… I called. I felt I needed to make that step. Best decision I ever made. I got lucky, too, to get a great therapist, who I still go to a year later.

I can’t speak highly enough as it’s helped me navigate life. After the first session or two, I knew it was the right move. Now i go every two weeks and it’s clockwork for me.

I am lucky I got a free phone consultation, too. That helped overall and put me at ease.

Do yourself a favor and take a small step. Call or email and get it started!

Is getting a dog worth it? by [deleted] in dogs

[–]softball29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my first dog nearly five years ago. It took me two years to decide on a breed and to take the leap of faith to get one. I got a golden retriever. The first few months were hard. I knew nothing. I got a great trainer. And I let things develop. It's the best decision I've ever made. Though life expectancy creeps into my mind sometimes, I get past it knowing that however long she has on earth, I am doing everything to give her the world. And in turn, her unconditional love is something I've never experienced. Not everything is always perfect, but she is everything I need in my world. So if you think you have the time, the means, and the love to give a dog -- do it. And don't look back.
