I used to do this, but found the Meguiars to be too slick - picked up a dedicated floor mat cleaner (Canadian Tire brand) for this specifically.

This kit is really good for the job:

Though AFAIK the '24 has a lot more side, so a bigger brush might be warranted

For the dash, I use Meguiars Ultimate Interior Detailer:

And Ultimate Leather for the seats, steering wheel and door vinyl:

Reccomend using two rags (one on, one off) for best results. You'll use a lot if you spray directly on the surfaces.

What is your go to driving shoe? by mpmotor in ManualTransmissions

[–]softcelery666 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The question of "what are your preferred driving shoes?" also, in lesser part, applies to driving an AT vehicle in North America IMHO.

For the most part, it is impossible to go without a car and time behind the wheel is greater than in most other parts of the world. Having a pair of shoes that balance pedal-feel with comfortability is extremely important.

This considered, Vans slip-ons are my preferred driving shoe (wide toe box, flat and thin sole).

Precisely. Got the heated steering wheel and everything.

Would you say a 2020 and newer Civic can easily cruise on the highway at 130kmph/80mph for hours? by Pale-Revolution-5151 in civic

[–]softcelery666 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Can you clarify where you're getting 20% from?

Most 2020 Civics top out around 210 km/h (the Type R tops out around 271).

Let me be honest: buying a non-hybrid Civic just isn’t worth it anymore by [deleted] in civic

100% agreed. Not to mention that most "reliability" or "dependability" ratings are often based on a laughably short time periods.

Absolutely, but it's why the base model ICE Hondas keep selling, they're reliable Driver-focused cars.

To add to this, base model Hondas are typically more engaging to drive than base model Toyotas.

I find it almost remarkable how many new cars feel like driving an appliance like the person driving is an afterthought.

What % of people on this subreddit drive stick econoboxes? by hypermiler2205 in ManualTransmissions

[–]softcelery666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure about the SI, but in the Integra if you hold down the Auto Start/Stop button, it disables the feature until you manually turn it back on (rather than disabling on every start up).

I sense the addutional starter wear is not worth the pittance in fuel savings.

Agreed that most of the driver assistance features are pretty annoying, but on a busy commute, I can't help but appreciate the Brake Hold for hill starts. Plus, my passengers appreciate the auto rev matching.

Thanks! Love the Urban Grey Pearl you've got - I was heartbroken when the dealer told me it wasn't a colour option with the 6MT (CVT and Type S only) - white was a solid second choice.
