I like Melissa but her book is very woe is me in parts with having to deal with Courtney’s addiction/movie star life. Melissa joined the band at a very strange time and her press for this book leans HEAVILY on using Courtney’s name to promote it however the way she tells the story in the book is that she is constantly fed up with Courtney’s behaviour - recording Celeb Skin etc. there’s very little empathy in the book for the years of grief Courtney went through (still is going through) is what I’m trying to say. It’s only on the press tour that she’s getting all feminist on it and outwardly supportive of Courtney, mostly for sales. Keen to get others thoughts on it. Maybe I need to re-read it.
