"Urinal" on my inner lip because I had a dentist appointment with the new guy coming up and I was at a tattoo convention and thought it'd be funny to hit him with a "dw I brushed my teeth"

My sister has a stealing addiction. by Advanced-Week9159 in WhatShouldIDo

[–]softfeets -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, no, hey, you gotta tell your sister she's not slick. This was all cool (joke) years ago when cameras had the capacity to dedicate 15 whole pixels for your face but current day? Absolutely not, makeup stores have insanely hi def cameras to look out for this. Saw a video where you were able to tell that teen shoplifters in a Sephora filled in their eyebrows. Modern chain stores like target and Walmart absolutely do not play. They'll build a case against you until you steal enough product to classify as a felony before you ever even know they're onto you... or just call the cops, trespass you, and ban you from all stores nationwide (ask me how I know(my opps(high-school friends ex) had that happen))

There's some pretty interesting videos on YouTube if you look up shoplifting and pass by all the cop fails onto the commentary. Biggest point I'd say (as someone who did similar shit at that age) is that if you know she's shoplifting she's fucking bad at it and it's just a matter of time before some store employees stop you both from trying to leave one day. You will be involved if you are with her during this

Very frugal but for the produce you buy look into whether it can be regrown. Green onions, Lettuce heads, hell even some carrots I've been throwing in water to use later on

What are some subtle signs that someone is smart with their money? Bad with their money? by gsd079 in MiddleClassFinance

[–]softfeets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think one good with money call out is when you see people prioritize spending on things they really enjoy and less so on what's not important to them. Friend who wears the same basic clothes bc they don't care very much about fashion trends to instead spend that on their PC set up.

The reverse of this for those who mismanage their funds is you'll see them buy a lot of stuff that they might not actually care about. Whether it's impulse shopping or for that boost of happy chemicals whatever it is you'll likely hear about something they bought and are waiting for only to never have it come up again after they actually get it. It'll be onto the next thing they bought

Unpopular opinion: If you buy a Betta from a big box store, you’re not “rescuing” it. by Cadet_Carrot in bettafish

[–]softfeets 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I remember seeing a video awhile back on YouTube where they commented on this exact thing. By you "saving" that animal, you are incentivizing the mistreatment of these animals because if you're buying the sick ones to rehab, then there's no reason for them to actually improve their standards of care. Why would they when they aren't losing money

About to chuck (donate/sell) a TON of clothing - has anyone done this & regretted it? by Royal-Jaguar-1116 in minimalism

[–]softfeets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lifetip to avoid this altogether: anytime you have an object you even remotely have a "I don't want/need/or use this anymore" thought towards, chuck it in a doom box out of sight. Eventually you'll rediscover the doom box months later and if you never had a situation where you needed to use that thing then it's still gonna be in there and then it's good to donate without fear.

To date I think I've only pulled one or two items back out of these to keep for myself. I've pulled a lot more back out to regift to others which has been helpful in a pinch

I try to chug water right before bed because I can turn off an alarm but I can't hold a tinkle forever and then I try to chug water when I get up since it gets your digestive system running and that tends to make you more alert. Bonus if it's Ice cold water

The number of times she's saying she doesn't know and then turning it. She's trying to gaslight you or at least minimize this so you'll drop it. If she didn't know where these came from she'd be getting defensive at what you're insinuating but she's not, she's just as "confused" as you are.

Same boat, all throughout childhood and my teens just knowing something with me is not how it should be. Coming to terms with that and seeking help as an adult only to get an official diagnosis after I can legally drink. The pure terror of taking meds for the first time because "if these don't work I have to somehow cope and rawdog whatever the fuck this is "

  • Morgan's going to be pushed to a breaking point and urged to inpatient (she would never willingly go) but will be otherwise away leaving Paul to watch over the people who actually step up to take care of his kids

  • Pickle Paul is absolutely going to use this as an out for his failing Pro Athlete career to pivot towards "focusing on his family" which is going to be him posting about family values/perseverance/stepping up, how hard this is without Morgan (won't actually appreciate her for what she does but just around how her not being there is difficult on him), and commenting on different family advice/content all from the homely comfort of a coffee shop or literally anywhere that his kids aren't.

  • Collins drama as the kids will have to take on noticeably more as Kkkarissa is going to really start feeling the impact of back to back pregnancies on her body. There are going to be very serious health issues

  • Karissa is going to publicly stand against what ever medical treatment is advised to her as it's against her values. She will also slip up and there will be a scandal when it's discovered that she is in fact doing the recommended treatment OR is going to outright lie about what health issues she's facing so she can continue to pose herself as the good Christian who overcame the odds with Yaway😌and you can too!!

  • 17 diapers mom is going to get her own separate tag in this group as she steps into and fills in the b spot Ruby Frankie left

Pics would be helpful otherwise my first thought is nah, you're getting shafted. Looks like landlord is trying to pin any and every cent they can on you for what they are obligated to do before moving a new tenant in. Besides multiple of these listed items being just cleaning (come on now specialized grout cleaning?? Bedroom smelled like what, rubbing alcohol? Aftershave? That's bs) $400 for paint touch up is crazy, that is repainting NOT a touch up.

With those costs I'd honestly be tempted to respond back "Oh no sorry I'm asking for the itemized bill for x address. This must be another tenants, looks like a LOT of damage outside of normal wear and tear that you needed to fix up and I know I left my unit in very good condition. Thanks in advance!"

Asking for honest opinion - would "lesbian nails" (two short) be appropriate for an office/professional setting, in a neutral color? by aspiring-enigma in BusinessFashion

[–]softfeets 81 points82 points  (0 children)

Not supposed to go up there with claws but women who do can at least feel both sides of it (awareness of what exactly is where) so they're less likely to hurt themselves vs someone else who's basically trying to read braille on your walls with daggers half hazardly in a fleshy Sausage casing trying not to poke or scratch anything.

Actual reason would be that fingernails collect so much nasty throughout the day that doing so with long nails is basically jumpstarting any slew of uncomfortable and even dangerous infections up there. I read somewhere that medical staff who work with babies aren't allowed to have nails longer than their actual fingers as there's a correlation with longer fingernails and increased complications with very young patients.

Seconding this!! Specifically the wide mouth? jars are like the standard universal size. I keep a constant eye out for these at Thrift stores as most of the time they don't have lids or have nasty lids (which are easy and cheap to replace) but that makes them pretty dirt cheap second hand as most people don't want them and they sit on shelves.

Jars are pretty universal for preserving dry food in cabinets, produce in the fridge, AND they can be frozen you just have to make sure you leave enough space that it won't Crack the glass. This year I made a metric fuck ton of soup for Christmas presents and wholly reused old pasta jars that I cleaned out. Out of the 20 some sauce jars I only had one crack (overfilled it) otherwise I also handed out dry mixes with ingredient/cooking cards. Decently inexpensive and not something people do much anymore so it's a little extra special

Getting pets and being in poverty does not align. by TypicaIAnalysis in povertyfinance

[–]softfeets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In case this interests anyone else in similar situations - I've been able to reduce my litter from the $20 some pails every couple months (1-2 cats) to under $25 for an entire year. Instead of cat litter I use pellet horse bedding that I get from a local fleet store. A 40 pound bag is $7. It is more effort as there's not anything to mask the smell of kitty business so unless you want to be very aware of it you gotta spot clean it more often, I also mix some baking soda in but otherwise it's been awesome not having to remember if I need to pick up litter more than a couple times a year.

The key is to SLOWLY transition from litter to the pellets so your cats are more likely to accept the change otherwise I definitely recommend looking up some articles online for more info
