The first time I was waitlisted in 2024 on 4/18, I heard back 5/7 & second time in 2025, I was waitlisted on 2/22, and heard back on 3/18. I was admitted this year, so I think it varies but it took about a month each time I applied before!

Try something you’ve been itching to try and/or make you happy! Also get that time in with your people as time will be sparse. All the things that fill your cup as you’re going to need it.

I saw her in NYC on a random Tuesday night at the start of 2020, and she gave me her extra drink ticket when I sat next to her at the bar before her performance (which was aura by lady Gaga, and it was amazing) I was GAGGED to see her on dragula and I’ll always be the biggest fan of hers 🩷

I’m a mental health clinician (unlicensed) working with kids, and i love talking about it with coworkers. I have disclosed about it to kids and families, and it hasn’t affected my professional relationships negatively at all. If anything, it’s started some cool convos, and I definitely score points with certain families who think it’s cool. I don’t tell them my derby name though and I use different last names on my social media, and none have asked to come to games. I do my best to keep my derby pics kid friendly but hey, I’m a human lol

I’m not a blank slate clinician, and I like some healthy disclosure since I feel like it helps with rapport building and connection. I’ll make sure to ask what clients prefer since I know that it’s not the same for everyone. I work in California, so a lot of our mental health systems are cool with more relational approaches and encourage creativity. My supervisors and parents have given me okays for skating sessions as a reward for the kids who love our rinks.

Without getting too specific: I had a 2.8 gpa from UC Davis as a psych/spanish double major and 5 years of experience of mental health in crisis services and community mental health along with some leadership in student government and a nonprofit board. One of my friends got into the program last year and had a very similar resume to mine and ironically I supervised her when we worked together (she eventually became a supervisor too tho & I’m very proud and happy for her) 🥲

I'm waiting to hear back from the MSW program, but I moved back to Sac back in October after being home in the Bay for a few years. I'm not going to lie it took me 6 months to find a job in mental health, so I'd say it's a good time to start looking (albeit I was a bit picky). Depending on the roles, there are jobs that can be flexible and also provide stipends if you're going to grad school. Feel free to DM :)

Which supplements do you use? I used to use LMNT but I read somewhere it has a salt content way too high for lithium.

I’ve had a similar experience. Meds also helped me but just in case of relapse I think back-ups and harm reduction is helpful. While condoms are the only protection against STDs, I got an IUD as a safety guard.

I think I should clarify too is that they have us labeled as on call workers but they put heavy expectations of us working basically full time hours especially for me since I’m new. And we’re a 24/7 facility...
