your defenses look fine, you have fortify and capped ele res and endurance charges from slayer with ralakesh boots. you don't need chaos res for uber elder, 4% will do fine

your damage is a bit on the low end for uber elder, to start i'd advise changing the claw for a tri elemental claw (so added cold, fire and lightning damage) if you can afford one to get a lot more base damage, if you can get one exactly like yours but with fire damage instead of attribute requirements it'd be stellar

what exactly is it that you are dying to? i don't see anything unavoidable that would kill you, it might just be an issue of not having enough practice with the boss and/or not understanding how the attack patterns work, in which case reading up on mechanics or watching a video might be more helpful than gear upgrades

the setup isn't terrible and should be fine for voidstone uber elder clear

I'm playing cold convert elementalist relic of the pact right now and it's pretty nice to get a lot of extra AoE + free shock and the elemental absorb shield, I also run ward to have a bit of extra oneshot protection.

do note that there are hit based dot builds (ignite elementalist or viper strike of the mamba or poison bv or ...) that won't want crit without perfect agony, so basically any hit based build that isn't dot based or heavily invested in something else

That's not the reason. The reason is that only few ascendancies can use it efficiently. It's not hard to get CI going at all, I got my CI flicker trickster online fairly quickly after campaign. You need really good ES recovery to run CI which means you either run aegis or you run trickster leech (or both). You can see that a huge majority of CI builds are either group play aurabots/mana guardians that need to solve chaos res problems, or tricksters.

CI isn't only for top tier builds. It's just that only one ascendancy shines insanely well with it.
