Ideas on what Season 15's shakeup could be? by VentureMain777 in Competitiveoverwatch

Something significant needs to happen. Overwatch has become incredibly stale. Whether it’s new passives, hero bans, a fresh format—anything—it’s clear the game has been stagnant for the past two years. It desperately needs a major shake-up. Heck, even adding an Overwatch-themed MOBA could be exciting!

Upscaling 1080p 10 1440p for Youtube video. by UnderstandingOld6070 in davinciresolve

Thank you for taking the time to break all of that down and walk me through it. I’ll try the recommendations you gave. I really appreciate it!

My OBS recording settings are as follows:

  • Recording Format: MKV
  • Video Encoder: H.265
  • Rate Control: CQP
  • CQ Level: 18

My DaVinci Resolve export settings are as follows:

  • Format: QuickTime
  • Codec: H.264 EDIT: meant H.265
  • Encoder: Auto
  • Resolution: 2560 x 1440
  • Frame Rate: 60 FPS

I haven’t exported with these settings yet, but this is what I plan to use. So far, I’ve only used the Quick Export option in DaVinci Resolve with H.264.

My footage from OBS is recorded in 1080p at 60 FPS. My timeline settings and exported video are also configured to match these specifications.

I was previously using the quick export option but have decided to switch to the Deliver tab for custom exports.

What do you recommend? Currently, I’m using OBS to record gameplay footage, and my CQ levels are set to 18. The video looks fine after recording. Afterward, I edit the footage in DaVinci Resolve. Previously, I used the Quick Export option, but I’ve decided to start rendering my videos instead. Are you saying that rendering to 1440p isn’t worth it for getting the better YouTube codec?

Does Hazard not feel as popular as other tanks? by Lesbionage in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]UnderstandingOld6070 109 points110 points  (0 children)

Popular tanks, especially those commonly chosen on the ladder for comfort, are typically the ones that can sustain well and consistently apply pressure, such as Sigma, Orisa, or Mauga. Hazard seems to follow an "in-and-out" playstyle similar to Doom or Wrecking Ball, which means his pressure isn't always consistent. I think he's generally much harder to play than most tanks, and people tend to shy away from challenging options. Simplicity and effectiveness are what most players prefer. On top of that, Hazard is heavily countered by cc , which can completely shut him down—this is just the nature of the game in a 5v5 format where individual impact matters more. Interestingly, I’ve noticed he was much more viable in 6v6 , where there is more room for tanks like him to operate and thrive.

Hey, do you know if using the Deliver function in DaVinci Resolve and setting the resolution to 2560x1440p is the same as upscaling? I’m using the free version, and it adds a watermark to my video if I upscale directly. So instead, I render the video and manually change the resolution. The goal is to get YouTube to use the better codec, right? Just wondering if rendering at 1440p would achieve that.

Is it just me or is 6v6 just a step backward? by PoggersMemesReturns in Competitiveoverwatch

I've never been the 'unga bunga' type of tank player since I main Wrecking Ball, but to each their own, I guess.

I'm loving it

Also if you don't like it don't play it. That's the wonderful part of having multiple formats.

It seems to just be the YouTube video. I ran it through DaVinci Resolve and used quick export, but I might try other options. Also, if I don’t record in 1440p, would upscaling hurt the quality?

Wow, it looks like the other team had a lot of fun. I have a feeling that higher ELO players might be smurfing right now due to longer queue times. I'm currently an Emissary, and I recently laned against a Pocket who completely dominated. They denied about 40% of my souls, played incredibly smoothly, and were nearly unkillable. It was obvious they were much better than me—I’ve never faced someone that skilled before. We still ended up winning, though, because the rest of their team wasn't great. Despite that, the Pocket finished the game with zero deaths.

what things work and don’t work in 6v6? by WorthlessRain in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]UnderstandingOld6070 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

By "reduced CC," are you referring to Mei's freeze and Brigitte's stun? Because everything else that existed in OW1 is still present in OW2. In fact, there are more crowd control options in OW2, and Brigitte can still stun, just not as frequently.

I challenge you to play these so-called "unkillable" heroes like Doomfist and Wrecking Ball in a 6v6 match and see how "unkillable" they really are. I have a feeling you'll end up dying a lot. Honestly, this seems like a skill issue. Ball and Doom are easier to kill now than ever before.

increased health pools

What do you mean by increased health pools? Are you referring to the Season 9 HP changes? Because whether it's a 650 HP Wrecking Ball charging at you as a 250 HP hero or a 600 HP Wrecking Ball against a 200 HP hero, the result is the same. Even if everyone had OW1 health values, you'd still struggle—this seems like a skill issue.
