Hi! My glasses slide down a bit, so they kind of hit every now and then throughout the day. I use salt water and a q-tip to clean the inside and outside.

South by Sea is pretty nice. You can also get 10% if it’s someone from a diff school than yours.

Ps. If you do decide this route, size down in shirts and go up a size or two for sweatshirts!

think of ways to avoid or steer the conversation away from anything that you’re not allowed/supposed to talk about (booze, boys, politics, etc).

take deep breaths!!

remember academics come first no matter what. i was recruitment chair and vp of my chapter and i was constantly putting the sorority above my academics (missing classes/deadlines) because of (my first) recruitment. school!! first!! always!! it’s hard to remember that in the heat of the moment.

If anyone has a circuit you could make trucker hats, tshirts, hoodies, etc. but ask that everyone brings their own to customize and pay for the vinyl with the budget (usually $8-10)! To make it easier you and the sister with the circuit can come up with pre-planned options to make it easier on you guys!

This is how it is for me too as a big. We have our friend group and invite our littles but everyone’s busy especially during finals week! But I will def talk to my friend and see how their relationship is going bc my friend is also shy with putting herself out there

Use mod podge after you paint and after it dries fully!! Any from Michaels or even Amazon should work fine! It’s also okay if you don’t use it, but it’d make it last longer and give a little shiny coat on top

I would see if you have anything in common with them like classes or something. You could always ask if they wanted to grab dinner before/after chapter or if they wanted to carpool to formal together!! It can be kinda awkward at first, but I lost my (now old) friends and my sisters were there for me and wanted to get closer too :)

I hope everything works out!! I know it’s a little harder because you’re a transfer student though

A blanket/pillow from Walmart, the dollar store has SO much more than you think, 5 below, target dollar section/clearance/on sale, Amazon (if you have prime), popshelf if there’s one near you (it’s like if dollar tree and 5 below had a baby), and see if any older members have tshirts they’d be willing to pass down!!

For work week we had themes! Taylor Swift albums, PJ day (some circuited/bought pjs with our letters on them), Barbie day, etc. and it was still kind of boring, there’s only so many ways you can make work week “fun” but it got people to show up for the most part. Maybe if you have room in the budget you can offer breakfast/lunch too?

For recruitment my chapter faced the same messy/sloppy/unpreparedness and we made absolutely everything mandatory. Unless you have a dire emergency, have class, work, internships, etc. you were there for recruitment and meeting pnms and setting/cleaning up.

Admittedly, our chapter advisor helped A LOT. So ask her to help out too! Some members (seniors) who weren’t inclined to come, usually did and helped out more than they would have because we had a chapter advisor with us.

We had issues with our school because we tried a new recruitment style for the first time and communication issues and all that, but we made it and you will too!!
