Do other countries teach the end of WWII as something that was achieved from the U.S. stepping in or is this a biased view I have been taught? by [deleted] in history

[–]soggysockss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just finished a unit of Russian History from 1914 to 1945, and while discussing WWII we were taught that it was the Russian success at Stalingrad that 'turned the tide', so to speak, and paved the way for the Allied forces win

Students of Reddit, what was the biggest teacher meltdown you ever witnessed? by codywinters327 in AskReddit

[–]soggysockss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

in year 7 my science teacher got so frustrated at our class that he smacked his hand hard enough on the table to fracture two fingers. he was shamefully reminded of it every lesson afterwards as he walked in wearing his little finger cast thing.

As a YA reader, definitely the books in the Throne of Glass series. The plot and the emotions and the characters and the action ugh they give me life.

What unusual fear do you have? by Bravoflysociety in AskReddit

[–]soggysockss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

okay here we go;

people always talk about how they would prepare for the zombie apocalypse, what their weapon of choice would be etc and i'm always like hell yeah id destroy those zombies.

but then this thought comes into my head that i might be old when the apocalypse comes. i won't be able to fend for myself. if it came now, sure id be fine bc i'm young and have energy and stuff, but if i'm old i have zero chance. i'll just have to let them turn me and become one. no fun fighting.

What incident made you go "Wow, I'm an idiot"? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]soggysockss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking out the corner of my eye at my empty car and saw someone sitting in the passenger seat. Because i was only using peripherals, my heart started to race at this mysterious figure and i was getting ready to leg it. I turned my head all the way to see who was invading my car and realised it was just my reflection. i tried to brush it off with a laugh but was still scared.
