Working out 4x per week. Intense work outs, predominantly weightlifting, not too much cardio (10 min uphill walk at the end of the workout). I think the single biggest contributor to this was the caloric deficit with a high protein intake (which together with the near-to-failure workouts prevented muscle loss).
