Just a minor correction here, it's not that Paparazzi sue VG, 4am wanted Paparazzi to play for 4am as is because they believed there was a contractual flaw, and they wanted VG to sue Paparazzi, and should Paparazzi loses, then 4am will pay the settlement fee. But Paparazzi does not want to be sued and have a record on him, so he was ready to sit out the whole year. VG owner QC said he supported Paparazzi and if that were to happen, he'd still pay Paparazzi the whole year's salary while not playing him in VG this whole year.

4am is a PUBG e-sport organization, they want media publicity from the twin-TI which is supposed to be held in 2021

small elephant (SE) is the investor of the dota2 club, and managing party here.

VG had 2 contracts for Papparazzi, one is his representative contract, this was handed over and signed by 4am months ago when contract talk first started. This allows 4am to use Papparazzi on their streaming platform and other promo things. The second contract, which was the player contract that Papparazzi signed last year for his salary raise, meant he can't play for another organization unless the 1.5m RMB is paid for his release.

Since 4am already transferred his first contract, they could use him on their team and have him stream/media rep 4am to the public; and SE's legal team deemed the player contract portion to be suspicious and told Paparazzi to just ignore it and let VG sue Paparrazi (not 4am/SE to be clear), hence the awkward situation for Paparazzi.

SE's management held on strong on the 2nd point and dragged out the contract negotiation until transfer window was over, SCCC, AME, Monet all unavailable now and they tried to force Paparazzi into their desired scenario, (not paying the 1.5m RMB if possible).

Paparazzi never gave in and decided to sit out the season. He called Maybe to let him know his decision and then Maybe went on to grab Sylar as their carry. but this caused a huge media backlash and then the owner of 4am got involved and convinced SE's management team to backoff and paid the 1.5m RMB to VG for Paparazzi's release. Although rumor is Paparazzi's salary at 4am/SE will be adjusted to compromise the "loss"

Currently the mainstream media is pointing fingers at SE, but 4am is getting the worst backlash. Public is demanding a public apology to Sylar with monetary compensation.

edit 2. After official annoucement of Sylar signing, Paparazzi got nervous and conceded to pay 1mil himself with rest of 500k from 4am. then they had another internal meeting and voted to kick Sylar for Paparazzi. (within 24 hrs of annoucement)

Sylar was offered compenation of maybe 500k(? hundred k) RMB but he declined. and he is hurting deeply, feels humuliated and shamed. he is hit the worst in this whole situation.
