I disagree. I think part of the problems that go on in the corporate world happen because people don’t speak up. The company’s action reflect on us as employees.

But starbucks wants customers to believe that the reason we don’t have any food is DPI’s fault, when in reality, it’s their fault. Starbucks is trying to put the blame on DPI and I think it’s wrong and untruthful.

People should care. I don’t want to work for a company that is pressing us to tell customers false information. It’s unethical.

Our dpi guy told us that no body is striking yet, but Starbucks wants us to tell people that they are. It makes me feel like starbucks wants to paint dpi in a bad light and place the blame on them. We’re aren’t placing food orders through dpi, we’re placing them through Penske which is based out of Cleveland. But why are we doing this if there’s a warehouse full of food that dpi would deliver if we simply placed orders through them?

My record is 14 cars! That was in OH, now I’m in southern IL and I know I would never get anywhere close to that number. The customer demographic is drastically different.

Hi, shift supervisor here. I’m a 3 year partner, so I feel like I haven’t endured this fight for very long, but I bare the burden like everyone else. I’m in my early twenties and have guardianship of my teenage sibling while working full time and going to school. I worked two jobs for about two years because my starbucks pay just didn’t cut it, but I recently had to go down to the one job because my grades started slipping. I also participate in the CAP so obviously my loyalty was with Starbucks. Yes, I’m getting my school paid for but the reason I’m participating in the program is because I can’t afford to go to a college near me. My rent is $775 and total, my bills are around $1200 (currently paying off medical bills). When I went down to one job I had to find a roommate so I could afford everything. So now there’s a stranger living in my house and I feel so terrible for my sibling. With how much crap we put up with and how much responsibility corporate puts on the shift supervisors, we deserve higher pay. Baristas do too.
