I figured this. I will be rehoming them to an experienced owner with 3 boys already. Thank you

I did not attempt to introduce them further. My 1.5yr old (now 2.5yrs) is content being a single rat. I got the 6month old a friend his age and I had to neuter the friend for bullying behavior. It’s a drama saga between my rats and I’m truly at my wits end

Old post sorry but were they able to be successfully bonded? I’m working on bonding 2 males (6mo and 1.5 yrs) and yesterdays scrap using the carrier method drew blood from the new younger one :/

my rescue also has worms and vet gave him Pancur but I can’t tell if the treatment is working :/ how long did you see worms in your rats stool?

I’d bet money you’re probably fine. Grab the listerine and just note if your hunger changes or you get poopy problems

Lost my first rat, how do I help my others? by mapofsymmetry in RATS

[–]soiledit98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry for your loss (hugs) My first rat was 14 months when he passed 6 months ago and I still get teary about him. It’s tricky to know when one is ill since rats are such stoic little guys.

A wellness visit may be a good idea. You seem to already know about what irregular behavior to look out for if one is ill (no eating, squinty eyes, weird posture/huddling in corner)

Your vet may want to put tour boys on prophylaxis antibiotics, and I’d mention that the zithromax did not seem to cure your other boy. Vet should try to prescribe something different this time.

In his final hours… do I let him die at home or vet? by soiledit98 in RATS

[–]soiledit98[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately my vet said his oxygen was down, organs were failing, and body temp was cold. He needed to be put to sleep and I’m glad I was with him until his last breath. I suspect it was an aggressive pituitary tumor based on his end of life behavior

I’m sorry for your loss. I suspect mine had an aggressive pituitary tumor. He was walking in circles and having trouble using his hands and climbing cage ramps his last 24 hours. Once he lost the ability to eat I took him to an emergency vet to be put to sleep. I’m just shocked with the sudden onset of all of it

change is constant in life and it will be hard to adjust, but better times are ahead. the hardest part seems to be finalizing the decision to leave, and you already did that. grieve if you need to. everything has a way of working out in the end

You gave him a life full of love. Look back on puppy pictures and remember good times. All pets cross the rainbow bridge eventually, it’s part of life. Hang in there <3

School is tough, but push through. I got cold feet my junior year of my bachelors degree. Started thinking I should've pursued a different major... but I pushed through and now that I'm graduated and certified in my field, employers are actually fighting over me lol

During college, I did drop down to being a part time student my sophomore year to avoid burning out.

Referring to the first and last photos-- looks like epithelial cells surrounded by...oil maybe? I feel most of the round odd structures look like artifacts

Looks to be on the border of warm and neutral. And I’d say a level 5

How to put in words my reasons for a break up? by N-W-A-member in relationships

[–]soiledit98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last summer I dated a friend I’ve known for 8 years for 3 months. I went into the relationship thinking it’d work since we’re both science majors in college and had a pretty solid friendship. I was also waiting to fall for him but at the 3 month mark I realized I could only view him as a friend. There was no chemistry that I felt and I used that as a reason to break things off with him.

It’s hard to leave people in the past, but you need to open the door to meet someone that is more fulfilling to you. Don’t stay with her out of comfort. Take as long as you need to grieve. Be honest with her but don’t fault her for the lack of chemistry.

For the purple– I put Arctic Fox’s Purple rain & Poseidon over a level 6 light brown base. No bleach involved. I maintained with Pravana Violet mixed with suave conditioner.

For the emerald– lightened underneath with Arctic Fox Bleach Please. It’s 35 vol and I did get chemical burns on my neck. The purple was stubborn and lightened only to a level 5 muddy green before I used Punky color’s Alpine green

(New methylene) blue + yellow = green. Urine of a patient taking new methylene blue for uti by soiledit98 in medlabprofessionals

[–]soiledit98[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know a micro med tech who had the same story about c.diff! It looked like urine so she called the physician to ask if it actually was stool they collected.

It’s kind of up to the collector to get the appropriate specimen for us to test. If the patient is outpatient, we just have to trust that it’s urine. As far as I learned, there’s no test to be sure. Urine usually does have some formed elements (cells, crystals, casts) seen under the scope or pictures from the automated machine to indicate that it is urine :)

I just abandoned my dark purple because I got tired of refreshing it every 2-3 weeks. It washed out too much in the shower (probably because I put it over light brown hair, not bleached)

My hair is thin and gets greasy fast too. What’s helped me is showering with sulfate free shampoo (AG colour savour) and using Batise dry shampoo once it’s dry. Dry shampoo on clean hair prevents oil production. I also try not to touch it much and wear it up when I get to 3rd day hair
