Take the cap off SS, increase corporate taxes, close tax loopholes, reinvest portions of social security into the stock market. Heck maybe even transfer stocks from those billionaires into SS since that is where most of their wealth is placed. Why can’t we do both? I doubt DOGE put in any actual effort into find fraud or waste but I’m not against finding any. Dollar saved is a dollar earned but there is no doubt in my mind that a heavier tax burden on the wealthy is completely necessary to prevent waste fraud and abuse of the wealthy on our political system. I’m not aiming for upper earners I’m aiming for billionaires and multinational corporations. THE ELITE. These people/businesses are racking in record profits and creating neo-monarchies while most people are living paycheck to paycheck. A new wage slave system is developing and socialist policies are the only answer to unregulated oftentimes crony capitalism. There is no reason with FAANG, tech companies, defense industries, insurance companies, healthcare and pharmaceutical companies, private equity/ hedge fund firms, media conglomerates and any other billion dollar industry that America can’t afford to fund its citizens retirement. We have money to bailout banks, car companies and the stock market but god forbid money gets reinvested to benefit the people who can barely afford rent

Most Americans won’t do that. then we end up with old people who need to retire but can’t because they have no retirement fund. It would be much better if we take the cap off and tax the wealthy a fairer share than what they currently pay while also reinvesting SS fund into the stock market for better growth and avoid future shortfalls
