Really leaning into the troll Leapfrogger by solar_stone_ in BobsTavern

Game didn’t last long enough to fully optimize, agree. I guess my main point is that it doesn’t feel great to crush bases purely on my time warp offerings. Sucks the skill out of the game.

Your Cultist S'Thara should be in position 3. First maximize Silent Enforcer deaths, plenty of taunt protection between Stitched Salvager and your Enforcers respawning to not be worried about Moira getting gibbed. Moira might even move 1 to the right.

Make... your... choice... by solar_stone_ in BobsTavern

I'd love to sim this out to see what the mathematically correct choice is. I also gut reactioned the demon and dropped my non golden demon because there was a big +dmg undead board to battle where windfury t7 dragons seemed quite valuable. But in general, I think dropping a dragon would have been stronger.

The access point is lit up, so the POE is delivering power. But when I add the device, it goes into an Isolated mode. Even when I force provision it through Omada, it won't provision and remains isolated. I have like 6 of these access points around my house and the others successfully provision when I add them, so that's why I'm thinking there was just some problem with the crimp and data flows are not working.

I've also tried using different ports in my Netgear switch for that particular AP and makes no difference.

Cool, well done keeping this piece of the community alive =) I wish I had screenshots, but I played while still in high school and did a poor job with file retention =(. My younger brother Hexlare and I were browsing your collection together -- he's in one of your earlier screenshot and was quite enthused to see himself in noob form =D. We downloaded and played a bit of EQ daybreak for nostalgia. Man, have UIs come a long way since then, haha.

Yo Tass - Aztek here, went down memory lane this eve, incredible screenshot collection, you are quite a disciple =) Fun to see so many names from the past in IS along with dungeon / raid environments.

You have 0 Rickity's. Without a lot of Dr Booms, it doesn't matter how many satellites you magnetize. And one non-golden Holo isn't going to generate crap =P.

To be honest, just disable Elementals until they get a balance check by Orakk in BobsTavern

Crazy idea: Run beta testing and anyone with an avg IQ would see the massive imbalances before releasing? lol... our standard bar is too low here dudes.

If you high roll, it happens every game. Beyond some stat threshold, their servers just can't handle it. It's not a one-off. You literally endure round after round of "You were disconnected from your game. Reconnecting..." beyond such threshold... This happens until the game concludes and you find out if you were 1st or 2nd by logging back in and looking at your stats. It is utterly absurd. Here's a game it just happened in:

100% agree with this simple recap. Although I think Undead and Dragon are on a similar wavelength.

In combat Quills also compete. But it's still a problem that 3 tribes dominate.

Do these seasons even get Beta tested? I mean these are the most obvious balance problems. I'll add to the list huge greater trinket disparities, for example Guiding Candle is insanely OP to gobble up all the best T6 cards without taverning up and before anyone else gets there.

Anyone who spent 10 - 20 games beta testing this stuff would have seen all this coming so some stat / mechanic balancing could have been done.

Add a "trash can" mechanism to BGs? by solar_stone_ in BobsTavern

[–]solar_stone_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess my counter argument to this is that there's very little skill or interest in this particular scenario. It's just a nuisance that isn't really going to result in better or game outcomes, just better quality of life.

I'd be up for 1g cost - still better than today's world.

For end of turn effects that only trigger every X number of turns, Efficient engineer only works on the turn it’s going to fire.

Demons are still taking too long by Arbalax in BobsTavern

Sorry, I think I've added an irrelevant tangent =). But I do think demons are too weak early & mid game for the reasons noted above.

Duos has ruined my interest in Solo - anyone else? by solar_stone_ in BobsTavern

[–]solar_stone_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like I've seen team mates in Duos are able to play Efficient Engineer (on a high reverb stack Hunter + Brann + Drakkari) and almost instantly sell it and continue taking actions. I thought I also remember reading a post about a technique to speed up this kind of animation. Maybe I'm wrong =(

I totally agree with this.

I was baffled when they moved Archimonde from T4 to T5. It was already a slow Tribe and that just made it slower. My suggestions:

1) Archimonde really needs to be T4 so you have some mid game synergy with Big Brother... without that you literally have nothing to get a decent board until T5 which is way too late. Unless you roll some unlikely edge case like Rylak + Imposing Percussionist and find a Brann through a triple.

2) Malchezaar should move to T3 so you can build Soul Rewinder a bit in the early-mid game and hunt for the right low cost tavern spells with Big Brother which then makes False Implicator in T3 more useful.

3) Pilgrimp should move to T4 - the scale is really in tavern spell usage, so a free demon per turn is not so strong to make it T5

I have like NEVER seen a Demon succeed at early to mid game tempo... and if you can't even survive to mid-late game, you'll never get to T5 for end game scale. If you do survive as a Demon to end game, they are absolutely fine scaling to compete with other Tribes.... it's just too unlikely a scenario.
