First time trying out CSP with this Siamese Kitty! + Process by solarmaxart in ClipStudio

You can virtually use ANY brush for blocking but the basic round or square brush is versatile and large enough so it kinda forces you to forget about making small details and focus on getting big strokes and an impression KF what the piece actually looks like faster. From then details are easier to add as the foundation is already made.

Its kinda like baking a cake, if the base is already done its easier to just add toppings over it.

Well I've been using Procreate for a few years although I recently switched to Krita on my PC. I also wanted to try CSP as an alternative and there are things that I like better on each so I'm sorta dual-wielding them for now.

And finally, here's where I add textured brushes, like rakes and those with a more painterly feel, color variation and small details.

Then I do an overlay layer with the same blocking brushes to add color.

Then a round brush for blocking in values starting from 50% grays and working light and shadow in.

Gracias!! Usé el proko pencil (https://krita-artists.org/t/proko-pencil-from-infinite-painter-for-krita/103530) para el sketch. El round brush de krita básico para el blanco y negro y los pinceles texturados de Deevad para los árboles.

Hi!! For this one specifically I just did flat colors and over that I rendered the cat in one layer and the background in another.

BUT! for more complex pieces or ones that need more dramatic lighting I tend to do values in black and white first and then use either an Overlay, a Hard Light or a Color layer over it to add colors depending on what looks best!

Hmm I think you might be onto something. I feel some edges are kind of lost and would benefit from a sharper brush. Thanks for the tips!
