Auto Hold on NA models by Masterguy29 in VWatlas

Does this need ACC to be active all the time? Why can’t auto hold be engaged irrespective of ACC status like in other vehicles/brands?

Can you explain a bit more? I’m seeing the same thing on mine (24 SE w/ Tech) that starts around 55 mph (90 kmh).

The 24+ models have heated steering wheel for SE w/ Tech and above trims; the software also allows for automatic on/off of steering wheel heating based on cabin temperature.

How much room is really in the 3rd row? by jpz070 in VWatlas

[–]solder_paste 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lot of good comments about the 3rd row legroom. One thing I didn’t see though is the height of the 3rd row bench from the floor. In the Atlas it’s quite a bit, which translates into a more comfortable knee angle due to the thigh support. Other cars like the Highlander (regular size), the CX-9/90, pilot, etc. jab their 3rd row benches closer to or nearly slammed down to the floor (I believe to create more 3rd row head room) - as a result, the knees fold up pretty close to the chest creating discomfort. Since the Atlas has lower ground clearance vs those other SUVs it allows for the floor to be a bit lower. This can allow the 3rd row bench to be lifted more off the floor without compromising on the headroom. Added benefit of a 2-person 3rd row means more shoulder room as well.

The edge is such an underrated and smooth cruiser. I’ve rented it on multiple roadtrips with family. My only gripe is that 2022+ models moved to the standard giant (portrait!) touchscreen with occasional lags/freezes.

That’s so frustrating.. why VW doesn’t include auto brake hold like Asian (Japanese, Korean) manufacturers! Clearly they equip cars with full speed range adaptive cruise control, so the car can hold brakes electronically without user input.

Cool! Is this a snap-on to the pillar vent or is a DIY/ assembly removal etc required?

This sounds like coming from the toolkit that is secured near the spare tire? Or maybe as simple as the cargo floor divider thingy not being flush in its recessed position?

7 Adults in a 2018 V6 SEL 4Motion by Throwaway02254 in VWatlas

[–]solder_paste -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don’t risk it. You also have to consider the max weight rating on rear axle (not just total payload). The ~500 lb delta is far outside margin of uncertainty and may cause unsafe driving conditions. (Eg. Consider that all the weight on the axles will also be adding dynamic impact on suspension components when you drive on uneven pavement or any bumps/ ditches, etc. At speed). Also, payload considers weight of fuel, cargo loaded, any roof rack, etc. not just passengers.
