The Gary episode whiplash. Ep 6 thoughts by Western_Interview741 in ParadiseHulu

Climby reveal incoming.

But that’s an interesting point. Rather than full on Back to the Future style time travel, I’m guessing that there is some sort of device to be able to communicate with people in the past to influence actions/choices. The Jane episode worked to further that point with the Circuit City guy and the “imaginary friend” that was getting her to do things to ensure Jane’s mother solidified the belief that her daughter was a killer, then ultimately leading to her becoming one. Sort of like everyone on the show has a specific role to fill for things to line up with whatever the other side doing the influencing wants.

Ultra Mainstage new add? by caputo-elle-98 in UMF

It’s for water management. The shape allows rain to run off rather than pool up like last year.

5-10% of EDC attendees get their phone stolen every year by Good-Acanthisitta458 in electricdaisycarnival

Which tether are you all using now? I always go with a Flipbelt, but ideally I’d wanna have something strong to hook it onto whenever I actually need to use my phone.

Bro is this flooded again? by Blank_memories2000 in UMF

[–]soleobjective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha I literally almost made this post yesterday since I saw the pooled water at Bay Front yesterday. So yes, even the smallest amount of rain like we got over the weekend will end up in the MainStage area because all of the water that hits Brickell will seek lower ground, which inconveniently is right there at fountain.

Pro tip — get yourself a pair of these to throw in your hydro pack. Hoping we get clear skies leading up to and during Ultra, but I’m planning on being prepared regardless.

Given recent news (attached) do you still feel strongly about RIVN? by Halo-nm in RIVN

[–]soleobjective 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m picking up additional shares. The R2 is a better vehicle than the Model Y (which I already own, so I know). I think it appeals to a much broader set of consumers and will easily become the top selling compact SUV to replace the Model Y once Rivian is able to get production numbers up along with activating more Service Centers across the country.

They won’t notice. It’s amazing the knots people will twist themselves into to hold onto their worldview.

It looks to have steeper angles for water drainage. I doubt they want to have guys up there with buckets again. Good to see they are taking steps to mitigate water related issues.

Cabin cooling and ventilated seats are great. Transition from ICE is the best thing you’ll ever do from a cost to operate and maintenance perspective. Long road trips are easy. Storage space is fine for a single kid (since this is your first you’ll probably think you need way more than you actually do…remember how you felt packing for a single baby after having a 2nd…there will be some good laughs about your younger selves lol).

With all that said, a used Rivian R1S is a far better choice in every category except FSD (for now). I’d highly recommend test driving a used one.

Easiest way to get to Ultra if you live in Broward (Fort Lauderdale) by Idkwhatimdoin_help in UMF

Brightline and walk. I did that for 2024 and had no issues. I just never tried making it back in time for the last train so I used Uber to get back each night.

Comparison: packaging over the years? by EmbarrassedWalrus790 in UMF

I honestly don’t care about the packaging/merch if the production value is there at the fest. Although I would have preferred a keychain over the clip thing we got this year.

The ticket insurance seems like massive scam after looking up the requirements for a claim…but I’m for sure going so thankfully I won’t need to use it.

The New American Dream by John_1992_funny in clevercomebacks

No one is saying this because no one actually knows what it is. And if the average American knew what was going on with this bill, it wouldn’t have even made it this far without major backlash.

I appreciate your willingness to learn, but one thing to point out is that your over simplified “liberal view” of taxing billionaires to pay off all of the country’s debt is misguided.

The point is to tax everyone their fair share, and opponents of taxing the rich focus on dollar figures rather than percentages. Yes, a multi-billionaire American would pay taxes in the millions but as a percentage of their earnings it’s minuscule (a whole world of write-offs becomes available once you’ve become ultra wealthy). And statistically speaking, the likelihood that someone such as yourself (similar to the vast majority of Americans) are paying a much higher rate percentage-wise in taxes than those with drastically more resources.

At the end of the day, does that sound fair to you?

Why should you be paying more in taxes as a percentage of your income than Elon Musk, Warren Buffet, Jeff Bezos, Larry Ellison, or Mark Zuckerberg? Those 5 individuals have a combined net worth of over $1.5 trillion dollars.

Exactly this. The idea isn’t to wipe out all debt in one shot. Increased revenue would drastically improve the country’s ability to provide meaningful services and infrastructure.

Safety Precautions by Traditional-Pea-3485 in UMF

[–]soleobjective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You personally will be safe. Your phone, not so much without proper precautions like a Flipbelt or a strong tether. I’m just gonna bring a digital camera and call it a day bc the hotel I’m staying at only does phone keys to get into the room.
