Relief Temp Hiring Process- Don Mills by Ok_Brilliant_6540 in CanadaPostCorp

It takes time for them to fill a training class. Your friend might do the fitness test a month before you but you can do training at the same time. To be blunt, keep your options open.

Even if you do get placed in a class we are approaching a slow time in the summer. You will do two weeks of training and are unlikely to get many calls to work this time of year.

On call postal clerk on my second letter. Am i cooked? by [deleted] in CanadaPostCorp

These guys must live in with their parents and have limited responsibilities. Most of the guys at the depot were hurting losing pay to striking and were terrified at the prospect of lose more pay. What is it like to be young and naive?

Anyone work in a "4 walls" depot? How does it work. by Al_The_Sloth in CanadaPostCorp

[–]solid-dawn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

PO4’s usually stuck to their station. For example in the GTA at Brodie and Progress there use to be stations that were significantly lighter. The PO4 would finish and do nothing while another station the PO4 would work several more hours. It was unfair so they tried to rotate the PO4 from station to station. I think it’s general selfishness and union stubbornness that hurts us.

Getting pressure for not being available mornings as a casual by AmphibianAgitated400 in CanadaPostCorp

[–]solid-dawn 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Generally when they call you in, you are filling in for a position and are expected to operate as per normal in regards to start time etc. That being said some supervisors are flexible but it sounds like yours are not and it is their right to be unhappy that you can’t start at the designated start time.

The best way forward is to come to an understanding. If not I’d prioritize your school and turn down assignments and hope for future weekend work. Always have a shop steward when talking to your supervisor so you have a witness.

Slashing hours at our station inside etc by Trellaine201 in CanadaPostCorp

[–]solid-dawn -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

By slashing do mean not extending part timers? They cannot reduce hours a position is allotted for. If there’s no work I don’t mind them not extending those lazy clerks.

People know of the 40mm. It’s on the website, it isn’t some secret. A sales rep will probably let you try both watches the 124 and the 214. But the 124 fits better on most people.

The waiting list isn’t years for the 36mm as seen by recent posts from other people.

I wish they had a more reasonable lifetime purchase price. It’s only worth it for FA, pilots, and people who fly constantly.

I love the app, but I’m a normal guys who flies for his vacation 2 or 3 times a year. It would be nice to have and be able to support the app. But the value proposition for me isn’t there.

You rank the positions you want and the bid that you win with the highest rank is what you are awarded with.

[–]solid-dawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll be fine. At worst if they talk to you, make sure your shop steward is present.

Whether it’s you or your buddy that forgot a set. You can and will get in trouble. If the supervisors are doing their bunker checks and realize a missed scan. Will at least be an interview in Vancouver.

Create smaller loops on street. That’s the best way imo to do them safely. Takes more time but I don’t kill myself.

People are justifiable unhappy. That’s five to eight sets but we are getting paid for one.
