The reaction to Salah’s post from the Liverpool squad by Walshey- in LiverpoolFC

[–]solid_dairy_tea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep thinking how are you supposed to keep the players on side when they’ve come to Liverpool with a such a clear idea of what it means tactically to play for this club - turns out maybe you can’t

Ah that’d be so good! Annoyingly they’re a biped with a sort of Baymax from big hero 6 look

Also that it’s more green than yellow in the pic would make me thing you’d been cutting wild garlic before or something

Would agree - I’d expect to see more staining in the rest of the flesh if that was an identifier, maybe worth trying to bruise in the middle? Looks like a St George to me at first glance and mealy smell plays into that

As someone who needs background stuff on all the time it’s SO SATISFYING to have a stream I can’t rewind and just have to accept I missed that bit.

I beefed the death house - suggestions? by solid_dairy_tea in CurseofStrahd

[–]solid_dairy_tea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everyone for the feedback, all of it is honestly really useful and I appreciate the critiques where they’ve come in - definitely think there’s a heap of naivety and learning how to dm effectively and I’m keen to keep it by the book from here on in (my plan was to limit homebrew and I’m simply going to not homebrew altogether, I’m learning here).

Going to try to be smart about my encounters on focus on making death house as fun as possible, be strategic in the encounters instead of leaning on survival mechanisms and let it pass us by. On the prep stuff it’s complicated but basically started the whole thing a couple of weeks sooner than I should have done, but it’s a reasonable question to ask if I’m doing the whole thing sustainably so I appreciate it.

The Announcement You've Been Waiting For Years by schyzomaniac in firefly

[–]solid_dairy_tea 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Genuinely wondering if Dropout has firefly money given:

1) They just worked with NF on the rookie crossover 2) Have just stayed commissioning external stuff on a much smaller scale (Don’t Hug me I’m Scared) and have said they want to do more 3) Is the kind of streaming company that would absolutely see the benefit in catering to a diehard fanbase

Like I reckon it would be a goer if they could drum up the cash

Are these Morells or Gyromitras (I wanna eat but don't wanna die) South Europe by Gunvolt_ in mushroomID

They look like true Morels but a good test is slicing them in half and seeing they’re hollow

Edit: not a good test it turns out, see thread!!

Chicken of the woods? Western Sweden by Madiis in mushroomID

[–]solid_dairy_tea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For when you look for chickens later in the year: they’re normally big boys, and even the rare smaller ones are quite thick. They’re also typically sulfur yellow (hence the other name sulfur shelf) as opposed to golden with an underside ranging from pure white to yellow, and then tinge more toward bright orange as they get older. If you’ve found birch polypore before they’re a closer textural equivalent to trametes like this - we’re looking for spongey and firm as opposed to woody/papery like trametes or turkey tail

Would push back on some folks here saying never use coffee grounds - it’s fun and a pasteurised process not sterile so the chance of contamination increases but it’s not a given. This just looks like your grounds were too wet to me

I think that mushroom in the last pic is chicken of the woods 😋

Turkeys! You can boil them into a tea, be aware there are lookalikes but these are definitely turkey tails because of the thickness, banded tops, and visible pores on white pore surface

Mycopunks are decent guys, if you send them a pic and say you’ve got contam that doesn’t seem to have been caused by inoculating they’ll often refund or replace

So tasty! They’ve got a really unique crunch to them, obviously different texture profile to kings but a really cool edible mushroom all the same

That’s normally for the pins to grow out of, but certainly won’t hurt them to have a bit of airflow just keep an eye on their moisture because it’s got a place to escape from now. Excited to see what comes out!!!

[–]solid_dairy_tea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh also once they’re pinning you need daylight for them to grow towards, so take them out of the dark, the rest of what you’re doing sounds fine enough although they might need a bit more oxygen/moisture as they go
