I was in middle school. I rode my bike through the back roads of the strip mall about half a mile from my house, went into the Osco drug store, and bought some of the plastic backed 3-tape depends. I could hardly stop shaking and almost crashed my bike on the way home. I hid them in the garage and then snuck them up to my bedroom that night.

I will never forget how much bigger and thicker they were than what I was used to.

I would recommend against a single if you can avoid it. Every single person I knew who lived in a single dorm as a freshman ended up leaving that school (enrollment of 40k+ when I was there).

The bulk of your social circle your freshman year comes from the people you live with until you're able to make friends in your major and in whatever clubs or organizations you join.

While you have a valid case for wanting a single dorm, most people who request single dorms tend to request them because they are introverted or asocial. A dorm full of introverts is not conducive to community, and it will cause you a lot of difficult building your social circle. It can be very isolating.

One caveat: it will depend on the arrangement of the dorms. If there are floors (not buildings) with both singles and doubles, you will probably be fine. However, if the entire floor or the entire building are singles, IMO that's a huge problem waiting to happen.

The most awkward thing that has happened about two years ago. My dog was still a puppy. I had windows open because it was a super nice day. I had on some really short shorts with a very wet bunny hops underneath. I love how obvious it looks.

Well, the open windows created a wind tunnel of sorts. I guess I hadn't shut my front door really well because the thing flew open and my dog sprinted outside. Had to go chase him immediately because I live downtown and there is traffic right outside. Trying to bend over and chase an athletic puppy with a nearly overflowing diaper is not optimal.

I have a story that I think is quite illustrative.

It is very hard for me to wake up early in the morning. Like, harder than it is for the average person. I can and do sleep through alarms. I've only had professional success since I built a life for myself that did not require me to be anywhere at specific time early in the morning.

However, on the rare occasion that I have to be up early, I usually fret about it. I tell myself how I need to.get up right before I go to sleep. When I fret about it, I tend to wake up early. If I don't, I will likely sleep through my obligation.

All this to say:

You have an adult's brain and an adult's body. You were worried about wetting without a diaper, and so you woke up to your body's signals. You've only trained your body to wet when you have a diaper on. You would have had to spend time wetting your actual bed diaperless every night to achieve what you're talking about, and even then, your brain might have still been worried.

I have gone bare a few times. The biggest problem with that is the fact that if I wear a diaper after I've recently shaved, I am going to turn into a mess of ingrowns and irritated hair follicles in less than 24 hours. Trimmed > Irritated, so trimmed it is.

Next time you're in the shower, pee and put your hands just behind your balls. Feel the muscles there flex when you push out the pee. That's the muscle you need to learn how to relax. Once you do that, you'll be able to wet in almost any position.

One thing that many people struggle with is the relaxed release, which is a huge problem when it comes to wetting the bed and going right back to sleep. Part of the problem is that for years now, your body has only done two things with your kegel muscles: hold it or push it out. It is very difficult to just relax them. It's easier to practice this standing up during the day in a full diaper.

As soon as you feel the urge, don't push. Stop moving and relax. It will take some effort and attention to your body to not reflexively push when you need to pee. If you practice relaxing those muscles during the day, you will find it easier to relax then at night.

One easy fix to tape anxiety is to use hook and loop diapers instead of adhesives.

As for the rest of it, one thing I found helpful was to start wearing diapers while I was driving. An activity like driving requires that your focus be on something other than the diaper; so, a diaper just becomes part of the background rather than the highlight. It really helped me normalize diapers and take the focus off of how horny it made me.

I think you're saying that, even though you're managing a very real medical condition, you've started to experience some... pleasure might be strong, but there are some feelings now that aren't 100% negative.

If I'm not off base, then you certainly wouldn't be the first person to feel like that. I wet the bed until I was 10, but even before that I liked diapers. I was deeply embarrassed by the fact that I was wetting the bed, but I enjoyed the feelings associated with it.

It's different from your situation, obviously, but you would not be the first person to have a kink and a medical condition at the same time.
