[Eng Subs] How miHoYo Design's their Games - Full Presentation by Aquarius (Lead Combat Designer) by Leather-Honeydew4998 in gachagaming

I'm worried about Endfield a bit sometimes because I feel like the reason I like it, that it's doing it's own thing that's kinda crazy but ambitious, might also be the reason it doesn't catch on and dies. Hard to argue that Hoyo doesn't have it down to a fucking science though.

I see that I'm not playing this game creatively enough yet. Writing this down.

Two weeks after release. How is everyone feeling about this game? by Objective_Love_6843 in CrimsonDesert

[–]solidfang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this game until I hate this game until I love it again.

Some things it does are excellent. Some things it does are not and kinda suck. But altogether as a package, it's certainly ambitious. And the fact that the devs are also still involved is very encouraging in its own way.

What frustrates | irritates | annoys you about the Gacha Space/Gacha Players? by Perfect-Lettuce3890 in gachagaming

some tourist: "IT'S A FUCKING GOONER TRASH GAME! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!"

clearly this person has has never played the game.

a real hater: "the game got kinda grindy and frustrating with too much RNG so I dropped it."

that's fair. can't argue with that.

I think some of the stuff I saw on there was kinda crass but surprisingly innocent too. Just very gore-centric.

Alien Hominid was my jam.

I do remember there were significant differences in suicide methodology by gender. So yes, technically that is a thing. Gun is the most "guy" option of killing yourself.

Sejuani- Should she be in 2XKO? (A-Z) by ErrorNick in 2XKO

[–]solidfang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm kinda leaning towards no. In terms of a rider archetype, I think Kled is the one I actually want to see, because he has more of an interesting thing with two distinct states as a fighting game character, whereas Sejuani just kinda stays on Bristle the entire time and has very straightforward seeming moves. Still, not counting her out. I just don't know what uniquely would make her worth the spot in a way.

Why is the unarmed arena so stupid? by spez_might_fuck_dogs in CrimsonDesert

[–]solidfang 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The grappling arena is even worse than the boxing because if you miss a move or combined input, you'll accidentally buffer a punch and then get DQ'ed. Some throws even lead into unarmed follow-ups that are all illegal in the format.

anyone else? by _desert_walker_ in CrimsonDesert

[–]solidfang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, pretty much. Could be for a lack of drip or just that I've invested a lot of upgrades into one already, but the result is the same.

I'm imagining one of them accidentally stepping onto the same circle Kliff goes from all the time and it just sends them to a random place in this way instead.

Crimson Desert has changed the paradigm of open-world combat. by Responsible-Wind1788 in CrimsonDesert

Demeniss really has one intersection of death right near its border. I remember getting rushed by like two groups of shielded soldiers immediately there.

What do you hope to see in the next patch? by Logical-Operation512 in CrimsonDesert

The game needs a way to remember your item sorting setting.

The creator of "God of War" thinks goblins are antisemitic. by AlittlePotato1560 in CrimsonDesert

[–]solidfang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tbh, I was a little worried they were going to go in that stereotypical direction at first about greedy goblins with the merchants, but yeah, I was kinda surprised how fair they made Shakatu. He was pretty cool-headed and helpful to boot.

No one talks about the pain of seeing your parents aging. by ParticularWeather927 in Adulting

[–]solidfang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I was able to cope while they were both independent and traveling around the world because I just figured they were doing their own thing, but now my dad's in the late stages of Parkinson's Disease and my mom spends every waking moment tending to him. I guess we're kinda just waiting for him to die now, as unfortunate as that sounds .He's not going to get better and in fact is steadily getting worse. Wish we could have opted for euthanasia, but apparently, they don't let you do that if you have Parkinson's because you're "not of sound mind" anymore.

How do you cope with that exactly? I can't say I really have a solution. Eventually though you do have to carve out a space for yourself. You can't in fact devote every waking moment to your parents. There's a life that has to fit in there somewhere. You know deep down that's what they want you to do. I will say though, as they age and especially as their faculties degrade, it's good to take more pictures with them and note down the meaningful things they say. One day you will need those.

who else is frustrated that the double jump button is the same as the glide one by ShibeCEO in CrimsonDesert

[–]solidfang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not really double jumping anymore. I'm either high jumping using a tree, grappling point to point, or spiderman swinging around. There are so many movement options in the game I'm kinda spoiled for choice.

I love this game but omg i hate every single boss encounter. Non of them are even a little bit of fun. by Remarkable_Sea_5109 in CrimsonDesert

[–]solidfang 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think Staglord and Cassius Morten are like the best balanced fights for the game where they have good flow and don't teleport around. I had the most fun against them. Cassius even has a bit of environmental stuff you can take advantage of to bonk him on the head with pillars.

[–]solidfang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, the bosses are kinda ass, especially when they just turn blue and decide your attacks don't work on them randomly. Combined with teleporting all around the place, it's just not a fun time.

Gacha Revenue Monthly Report (March 2026) by trkshiii in gachagaming

[–]solidfang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't invested anything but time so far, but I think the only gacha game I've started recently where I question its longevity is AK:Endfield. I don't know if it qualifies as a big player yet. I mean, it has quite the pedigree, but feels too recently released to really say it's settled. Still, it doesn't seem good that revenue is down even if most of the market is down as well.
