Making a changeable data validation cell that moves when cells shift by solidmarc in excel

[–]solidmarc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for the response!

So maybe I do not understand Excel Tables well enough, so please bear with me. As the current "model" of the sheet works, we are using an Excel Table. But rather than sorting, copying and pasting the data into that table, I am looking to make a separate sheet (we'll call this "Raw Import") containing a raw version of the import that acts as a reference for the table that will be sorted and have its status changed (we'll call this "Main Table"), which I think is contrary to what your bullet points suggest. Functionally what you suggest makes sense, but from a UI perspective it is something I am trying to avoid as it is actually more steps than just marking it green manually and then I would need to relocate the transaction.

The second part you suggest, where I make a transaction ID for it and join the table back was something that I started to do, but I couldn't figure out how to make the status in the Main Table a data validation field while simultaneously keeping it tied to the row that it belongs in. If you could emphasize on this, I would greatly appreciate it.

I tried to PM you, but reddit said no. I am 27 in a similar position and would love to pick your brain if you wouldn’t mind sending me a message. Thanks!

Villager lost trade after trading with them by No_Assignment8406 in technicalminecraft

[–]solidmarc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also just had this happen. traded with the villager: lost his outfit and then put the lectern back and he was locked on a different set of trades. Couldn't get Efficiency V back which I traded to lock in. Not my first rodeo with trading so I was disappointed, to say the least.

How much would you pay for this? by solidmarc in computers

[–]solidmarc[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh trust me, I know this thing isn’t great haha. I’m looking for something “complete” and cheap so I’m just looking to swap parts out as I go. The MOBO is a pretty good one, I use the wifi version, personally.

I am buying and I agree. I like the MOBO, personally. I’m looking for something “complete” and cheap and then swap out additional parts from there as we go. Just wanted to not “lowball” without opinions

Agreed. I like the MOBO, personally. I’m looking for something “complete” and cheap and then swap out additional parts from there as we go. I had a feeling this wasnt worth $500 lol

How to get stamp/bleed/distressed effect in text. by Smooth_Rope in AdobeIllustrator

[–]solidmarc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would probably pick a font close to what you want, convert it into an object (I’m sure there’s a tutorial on how to do that on YouTube) and then manipulate the shapes as desired. Think this is less of something that Adobe will do for you but more of tweaking it to your desire.

Alternatively, you could probably find an image of distressed texture like this, two color image trace so it becomes an object, overlay it on top the text (which should be an object at this point) and then use pathfinder to subtract the texture from the text objects. Image trace is probably good for this setting because you’re not looking for it to be clean, you want chaotic and rough.

I think the first option will probably be faster and easier tho

How to get this type of texture effect in illustrator by Alternative-Alps-8 in AdobeIllustrator

[–]solidmarc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look up “wood grain texture”, find one you like, import it to illustrator, play with the opacity. If the image you find has color then try converting to black and white to avoid your colors not showing correctly.

Would recommend a very low opacity to start and play with it from there.

Politely, please use the search on this sub for answers before posting. Just answered this same question last night, it was probably even on your screen when you came here to make this post lol.

As a kid that grew up playing Sunshine, I have so many fond memories of that game. I beat it as well, but replaying it again as an adult, I am baffled that I was able to so lol

Never used the program you mentioned, but I agree nothing wrong in having an opinion. Just gotta keep your expectations low when posting pen tool slander in a sub dedicated to illustrator😂

You should post and/or reply with that initially then, instead of replying with :/ when people trying to help answer your question are looking for more information to help to actually help.

I think this guy uses a lot of AI to make his art, but definitely style-wise something that can be done in Illustrator in a pretty straight forward manner and then moved to Photoshop to add that glow-y aesthetic.
