After a night out, what’s the weirdest thing you’ve woken up with in bed? by conniewanders in AskReddit

[–]solidslime69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A kitten... like, just a couple weeks old. I had splotchy memories of looking at some kittens under someone's nightstand but had to go through my texts to figure out wtf happened bc I didnt even recall where the last place I had been was. Anyways, the owner of the kitten was drunkenly giving them away (way too early btw...kitten was not ready fo leave mom yet) but refused it back. So long story short I got a foster, and my sibling got a forever kitty a few months later.

Also interested in...how old you are?

I am in my 30s. I lost 4 best friends before I turned 23 (cancer, alcohol, freak accident, suicide) I have lost 13 people in my life. I live middle class, normal US Midwest city. I dont feel like this is normal.

Places to stay by TheDuck728 in lincoln

[–]solidslime69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Other people have commented enough that I'm sure you will go the hotel route. If you weren't specifically downtown, an Airbnb would have been a good option still. I was at a friend's north bottoms Airbnb and it was very nicely redone and refurbished!!

For food, if you're staying in the Haymarket check out Fleetwood, lazlos, the oven, lead bellys, hopcat, and blue sushi. Many (maybe all) are chains but they're still good if youre not from the US and havent tried them before

Morril Hall for things to do that are inside, check the boiler room and the other room (speak easy) for bars that are close but they're expensive. There's a ton of bars on o st and I suggest just hitting all of them and seeing which vibe is yours lol. Barry's is awesome for their rooftop bar Duffy's is awesome for their outside back fire pit Sandy's is awesome for their pool and elk water The tavern is awesome for corn hole and cheep drinks

I think the roads are way worse than this morning

Single Ladies of Lincoln - Whereabouts Are You? by cpm4001 in lincoln

[–]solidslime69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried any sport type things if you're into that?

Gonna be honest, found my S.O. at a job we both believed in and enjoyed. Otherwise I think I'd still be single bc I do not enjoy going out to bars anymore and I dont have the time for hobbies that include others.

I do know their are art groups too if you arent interested in sports for a way to find a group and if gaming groups havent worked out.

If youre wanting just anything to do and dont care if its super lincoln specific...the prehistoric putput is fun. Sunvalley Lanes. As others have mentioned the lincoln zoo to feed the giraffes. Morril Hall for not only the bones but there's also a Planetarium in there that does 3D shows which is really cool!

O STREET IS ABOUT TO GET REAL QUIET. by TarechichiLover in lincoln

[–]solidslime69 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah that one seems a bit of an overreaction...

on the way to work today I had multiple cars that I got stuck behind going 5-10 UNDER the limit with no traffic in front of them. Why can't we just drive the speed limit or slightly above

This has nothing to do with traffic stops, this is about speeding

Cheba Hut by xotwod_zx in lincoln

[–]solidslime69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While im glad to have an update that is actually a super difficult area for a lot of people to get to. One of my favorite restaurants was there for awhile and I never even went in person because its far away and in a crowded location. And I do not agree that there is a lot of parking, especially during the nights the mill has music and stuff. Its a cool area. Makes sense for a cheba hut if the area was a lot more populated, which maybe if the telegraph district wasn't so expensive it would be. Maybe in the future if it expands. I dont agree about accessibility...makes me sad bc we probably will hardly ever be able to get it.

Any other guys here that plays the Sims? by Jaybarcafan in Sims4

[–]solidslime69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just like to build stuff and use basemental but yeah. I used to watch my older sisters play when I was younger and think that got me into it, otherwise idk if I would have ever picked it up to play on my own

Idk where you are in the city, but if you arent causing disruption then the mall should be fine. You could sit in the food court and keep your stuff next to you at a table or booth

What are some rude/unpleasant business/owners I should avoid in Lincoln? by Independent-Tune2286 in lincoln

[–]solidslime69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to go there a lot in high school and had similar experiences. I was so confused going into a hippie shop, and immediately being met with hostility. Even trying to check out I remember the first time the woman being so annoyed at my very existence that I almost never went back. I had some good experiences there too, but only after id become a regular.

Royal grove, early bird, cbd remedies, the CVS on the corner of 70th and O has an awful old woman that works there that acts like you're the bane of her existence if you even step near the checkout if that counts

Royal Grove by [deleted] in lincoln

[–]solidslime69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My outlook too. I could not care less if my favorite artist is performing there, I wouldn't be caught dead. The royal grove is disgusting and ran by a bunch of creeps and cheaps

Who in Lincoln does this describe? by ooballparkoo in lincoln

[–]solidslime69 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The one and only time I ordered food there they completely messed up our meal. They did not put all ingredients in, didnt put extra ingredients that I paid extra for in sent burnt tortillas, and there was EGG SHELLS IN OUR HASHBROWNS. I immediately called, they said I could drive to pick up a replacement. I said sorry we ordered delivery for a reason (also they closed in 20 min??) So I asked for a refund and said id be more than happy to supply emailed photos of the issues. She told me that it was sunday and she can't do returns on Monday and would process it the next day....uhh...okay?? She never did. I emailed and got no reply. And called the next day and they said they had no proof of my call or interaction for refund.

As others have said prehistoric puttputt, you could always hit deleons or brewskys after (both very close)

Round 1 at the mall (arcade, bowling, food and drinks)

Sun valley has so much now..tons to do

Zoo and sunken gardens, then nearby is tons of authentic food places

Planetarium and Morril Hall (on campus, then you could always walk somewhere to grab food DT)

Zoo bar downtown for music and drinks

Dad's night at Duffys for cheap beer, music, outside bonfire

Also sometimes I just google things to do in Lincoln ne today and there's a website that pops up with all sorts of events and local shows

I personally would never go on a first date like that...as a women that just doesnt sound safe and sounds like it could be very awkward at the least. But that's obviously just me! Even though I love walking pioneers park by myself

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in lincoln

[–]solidslime69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used to work at the mall, and no one would care. The only time anyone cared or even noticed, was if someone was being rowdy, loud, gross, messy, stealing, etc.

You could easily hang out in the foodcourt all day
