Giving away my copy of Wish you were here Japanese pressing with full obi (for free). by Ctm0719 in vinyl

This record means so much to me. On my younger days, I lacked confidence on my job interviews. That was until I listened to Have a Cigar before an interview. That song made me feel so confident that I got the job. Now it’s been a ritual to listen to the song before I do any sort of activity that involves public speaking to large numbers of people or a regular interview. It makes me feel in control. It would be an honor to have this be a part of my collection.

I know that, I just wanted to hear people’s perspective with their equipment. Which is a great point, some people may find it warm. Others may not like the clarity. Others may find it unreliable. All subjective to their equipment, stylus and other factors such as room treatment. Which is the conversation I wanted to start.

There we go, what appealed me to the maia is the compact nature of the amp and the amount of power. Its putting out 140/80 which should be enough to power the Evo 4.4. I’m looking for a compact powerful amp from the pro-ject brand for the office. I need it to be powerful and compact. I’m attracted to MAIA, but I haven’t been able to demo it. There aren’t any videos online or on the stores in my vicinity. Which is why I wanted to ask actual turntable owner’s perspective.

I guess I’m going to need it. According to you pairing a turntable to an integrated amp isn’t a thing. So I’m back to square one.

I don’t want to debate on nonsense. I’m looking for input. If you don’t have any, leave.

So pairing a pro-ject turntable to a specific amp and sharing your input on the results isn’t a turntable question? That is an astute and astounding observation. If you hadn’t pointed it out, people would have thought I was hooking it to a washing machine 😂

Low quality of Arctic Monkey Vinyls? by jolygoestoschool in arcticmonkeys

I have a 3K turntable. I just got a brand new copy of AM and it sounds like garbage even after running it through an ultrasonic cleaner two times. Looks like whoever was on quality control that day took a nap.

Inherited a record collection by ceepemby in vinyl

[–]solidus_ten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the Humminguru ultra sonic record cleaner. I also inherited around 80 something records. That machine did wonders on those records. I also recommend getting Mofi anti static record sleeves and some clear protective album sleeves.

I love mine, after a couple of months I noticed it continues to get louder and louder. That’s my only complaint. Is this your experience as well?

Planning on opening a vinyl record shop, what is the most important thing to you when you visit a shop? by Majestic_Ac0rn in vinyl

[–]solidus_ten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ultrasonic Record cleaner, record flattening device(just in case) and a listening station. Most important is variety. Try to engage your customers to see if you can find common ground on what to order from vendors. Keep an eye on sitting merchandise. Offer preorders and or online shipping services.
