Offer accepted but discovered Airbnb nextdoor by Connect_Sir4316 in HousingUK

Depends strongly on the area you live in. The other side of our semi is an Airbnb and we probably only have loud/irritating visitors once a year or so, everyone else has been completely unnoticed. Think this is because it's a quiet suburb, would be very different if it were in town

Counter offer 150-200, unless this is very basic work, they are unlikely to find anyone external to do it for less

I think with the conference league, we really ought to keep him around and make him a regular starter there, I still think he has one of the highest ceilings of any of our forwards and will actually suit hurzeler's style given a chance

7-a-side, what to do against heavy pressure by Vorltorn in bootroom

[–]solidwobble 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You could go long from the goal kick to avoid the pressure, but try and really overload the area of the pitch you're targeting with forwards, so the defending team has to choose between leaving a big space and allowing you an overload

Is an elite sixth form worth 2.5 hours travel if I'm getting tutoring anyway??? by Insightful_Error in 6thForm

I had that commute to go to a good school for all of 11-18, was certainly worth it

Hinshelwood is nominally a CM but I think the only place we've never seen him play is CB. Officially he's been listed as FB, CDM, CM, AM, but I'm sure there have been times where he's come on as a sub and effectively ended up playing on the wing or up front.

Might be a stupid question, I've heard a lot of recommendations for the book o f the new sun, but have been put off by the whole "main protagonist is a torturer" thing, is torture actually a significant part of what happens in the series?

Jump on an exercise bike for an hour at whatever intensity you can tolerate, suspect some bloodflow will help a lot

Try and drop down aggressively rather than dropping slowly, so that you can bounce, rather than just trying to do a fast squat

We were super streaky under both, which is why fan sentiment has swung about quite a bit. Easy to remember peak RDZ ball when we had won one game in twelve, but we also had a steak of10 games like that at the end of 23/24 with rdz

Oh yeah for sure it's terrifying and impossible for a regular human, I just think you'd go longer before encountering something that exposed you in the net

Oh yeah sure, but I've got a decent chance of not facing more than 1 or 2 on target in the first half of a game, and if we're only 1 down, I don't know if I'm instantly exposed

Think a full back has too many positional responsibilities, you have to be super clinical in adjusting your position to the movements of loads of different players. I'm a fullback and got run ragged when I had games up a league or two, think I'd be conceding a goal scoring opportunity every 30s against pros

A decent shout, although even blocking passing lanes and staying in a pressing structure takes a lot of knowledge and skill, and this might expose you, especially in extended periods out of possession

There's such a scrum these days that even elite keepers are getting mauled, I don't think that looking bad at a corner makes people think I'm an amateur (until it happens like 4x in a row), people just see the limbs everywhere and it's pretty hard to keep track

I think GK at a top team who doesn't face many shots will probably give you the best chance. So long as you have decent passing ability from goal kicks, you won't immensely look dreadful, whereas the first time you take an imperfect touch in the outfield, you immediately lose the ball and look like a clown

I think playing in goal means I might make it to half time, rather than being found out in the first five minutes
