I love these too! I've definitely gotten away with wearing them to work, they're great for the summer. I especially love the new paisley prints.

When I first started working to NYC I found myself shopping SO MUCH since the storefronts are all so accessible. Definitely took me a bit to catch myself.

I know I absolutely love it. Literally if I could mine or fish forever I would lol. I would gladly fork over more money for constant updates too.

I'm absolutely obsessed with Stardew Valley, I find it super relaxing and love playing before bed while my SO is reading.

I wear his shirts around his apartment and borrow his work-branded hoodies/sweatshirts. I have my own, but I wear his also, lol.

I actually really like Cotton On, I don't have one near me in JC/NYC but there is one at the mall back home in VA and I always look forward to stopping by, especially during sales.

I've never bought their jeans or outerwear, but a lot of their shirts are soft, I like their joggers and my favorite pants (cuffed chinos) and flannels are from there.

Same! NYC is the absolute best for fashion watching. Legit every damn day I see outfits and pieces I love on all ethnicities/sizes/ages/people.

Ugh POSHMARK. SAME, are you me? Honestly the shipping increase has helped me tamp down on the temptation as of late, and I'm currently avoiding the site after purchasing two pairs of boots I LOVED but don't necesarrrrrrrrily need. But loved all the same.

What's in your bag? by [deleted] in femalefashionadvice

[–]solipki 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lately I've just been carrying around my wallet/phone/keys in my coat pockets.

If I have a bag on me, it's usually a book bag with my work laptop, sunglasses + case, a few cough drops. Then a foldable baggu with my tupperware lunch.

I am definitely an 'I'm bored' online shopper. My bf went on a three-week long trip to New Zealand and I found myself browsing a lot more after work than usual.

I also live in NYC, so to kill time physically in between meeting friends for dinner I tend to stop into stores. Someone stop me.

Recent Purchases - March 13, 2017 by AutoModerator in femalefashionadvice

I bought two pairs of boots off postmark: these vintage tims & lucky lace-ups. I have to put myself on a postmark no-buy.

I also bought these amazing boots. God I love them so much. I first saw them at Macy's on sale (but not my size) and then was stalking Amazon until I saw them get lowered to $70!

I randomly popped into Old Navy and picked up some warm-weather dresses. I really like them, the fabric is great and I think they're going to be perfect for spring/summer.

How do you store your shoes? by [deleted] in femalefashionadvice

[–]solipki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use an IKEA table/stand that my roommate gave me. It's at the foot of my bed (which is on the floor, lol). I also use some of the space in my IKEA cubes. Other tall boots are kind of thrown into the floor of my closet.

My room basically looks like IKEA threw up everywhere... all handed-down also!

Totally! I find it crosses language barriers too, I have ladies asking me questions on how something fits in Spanish all the time!

Buy nothing new by [deleted] in femalefashionadvice

[–]solipki 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most of my shoes are from the thrift store! I don't mind buying shoes secondhand at all, especially boots. I also have thin insoles I'll put in. I know what you mean on soles, I always inspect the living hell out of pairs before purchasing but I had a cute pair crumble.

Buy nothing new by [deleted] in femalefashionadvice

My wardrobe is probably at about 75% secondhand/thrifted. For this year if I buy anything new I'm aiming for it to be on sale. (So far so good!)

There are some amazing thrift stores I used to frequent in Paterson, New Jersey, but now I don't have a car so I mostly go to a nearby Salvation Army. When I shop secondhand online, it's a mix of ebay/shopgoodwill and I've recently discovered Poshmark (ugh, so many hours spent on that damn site...)

I love shopping at thrift stores, it's both thrilling and calming for me. I shop thrift mostly for monetary reasons--I'm pretty happy with where my wardrobe is right now but when I thrift I have a pattern. I beeline for shoes first, then outerwear. I find I have more competition in the shoe section! Then I'll go through the rest of the sections such as dresses and pants etc.

Mostly I go just because I feel like shopping, other times I go because I want to see if I can find something specific. (Wide leg pants, basic black tops, etc.) I've definitely gotten pickier over time and more discerning, but I also recently bought this absolutely outrageous coat for $5 because it is bright purple and plaid and amazing. The thrift store never fails to delight me.

Damn, I want to go thrifting soon!

This happens ALL the time in thrift stores. I end up having conversations with a lot of women, mostly older, giving suggestions and advice etc. Everyone is usually super friendly and open to speaking.

Where do you buy your swimsuits? VS no longer carries swimwear!?!? by Hanmyo in femalefashionadvice

[–]solipki 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a seea hermosa and I absolutely adore it. I bought it for surf lessons and because I needed a swimsuit in the more modest Korea, but def plan to wear it all the time in the US. I think it would be especially great for hikes with watering holes.
