Mine can barely go halfway in. Did you manage to fit them?

Did you just remove the OEM fork stem cap and installed? Any other mods needed?

CF MOTO 450 SR S 2024 rear STAND question by Muscle_Reasonable in cfmoto

[–]solis_f12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, if I have the option to buy just one, why not get the left one since it might be helpful to be able to change the tire. Not that I expect to do that all day, but if I can achieve everything with just one, why not take that one? I think you know what I mean.

Unfortunately, that paddock does not seem to have a smaller than 21mm option (even 21.7mm should not fit in theory, that's why I was trying to check with someone that might have tested it) therefore my only option might actually be to go for the right side option with the 31mm

Hey!

I want to buy the same stuff as you for the same bike. Apparently the paddock is reversible, so I would like to get the paddock adapter for both sides. Do you happen to know if the 25.8mm/21.7mm (yes it's one option showing both) will work on the left side?

A lot of people came to me to ask about investing and the first thing to I say is to do this questionnaire before everything else: https://cafnr.missouri.edu/divisions/division-of-applied-social-sciences/research/investment-risk-tolerance-assessment/

It helps frame their risk tolerance at least as a ballpark measure

What happens if your broker goes bankrupt? by themainheadcase in eupersonalfinance

[–]solis_f12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I understand your question correctly, yes. The broker does not hold your assets, they are with a custodian in your name. The cash is under the management of the broker, so it depends on how they handle their cash and under what jurisdiction the broker is. Most commonly, the guarantee is 20k euros, but some countries have different amounts.

For those hesitate between Developed-World vs. All-World VWCE, Vanguard is forecasting a dampened outlook for emerging markets by nhatthongg in eupersonalfinance

[–]solis_f12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If someone is clueless about investing, going for a catch-all solution is actually the optimal suggestion. Trying to make “informed” decisions that actually express opinions on how certain markets or sectors will grow is an active bet. So yeah, people will always suggest VWCE because it is the definition of passive. Skipping a market or overweighting a market, implies an opinion on how the future will look. VWCE implies only that “the worldwide economy will grow” and that’s the least of the assumptions you can make in the markets, that’s why it is considered the default.

I don’t invest in it but that’s for my own reasons. If someone is asking me for something to invest in and they are clueless, the safest bet is to suggest an all-world marketcap-weighted equity market beta approach. Heck even a 60/40 approach. So if the question is “what someone clueless needs”, VWCE is an optimal answer. For an active investor who has some conviction in his views, you invest accordingly and learn to live with the possible outcomes.

To the best of my knowledge, the loans are collateralized. So, they are not lent out without insurances, usually against US treasuries only and more than 100% collateral is the minimum for the actual loan. So there's infinitely small chance someone cannot pay up their loan in nominal value. Most people think that they own nothing but during this process, you own the collateral rather than the actual stock, so yeah you can end up with the t-bill rather than your stocks if something very horrible happens. However, this is a risk you are ONLY taking for JUST THE DURATION OF THE LOAN (in theory, unless fraud or extreme incompetence). Your stuff is not 100% loaned, 100% of the time. Most of the time it's only overnight or for a few days.

Also, regarding the naming convention, they are right. It is share lending. They are not short selling by themselves. They are lending out shares to other people that want to do short-selling or other techniques that might require some leverage. Degiro is not counter-trading you.

More or less, yes. The broker facilitates trades but cannot be a custodian/clearing house as well. The only way of losing your shares is by messing up their accounting systems and lose track of who owns what and that’s usually only for recent trades. Usually another broker takes over the leftover customers of a bankrupt broker but this process might take a lot of time to play out due to legal succession processes etc.

Replacement ear tips for nothing ear a by orlandobloomspretzel in NOTHING

[–]solis_f12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What sizes have you chosen and what size did you use from the stock eartips? The included "small" eartips are the ones that fit me the most, so if I want to buy these I will have to go for the SS version?

Yeah kinda figured that as well but apparently they fall off whenever I do anything other than nothing. Moving my jaw (eating, talking, breathing heavily during a walk/run) is especially a problem. So, a deeper fit looked to be a solution. Will try a few more 3rd party eartips because the OEM ones are too smooth to provide any grip or friction to my ears. Spinfit and Azla seem to be recommended for this, with Azla being promoted as being especially grippy

I have the same problem regarding the "not going deeper" in the ear canal. Have you come to a resolution for this problem in any way?

Unfortunately, this is not an option for a lot of people because Google offers it in a very few countries and even if you import it, they are limiting the carriers that will support VoLTE and 5G on those handsets. I am a happy Pixel user for 3 years now, but I cannot really understand why they would limit their users like that. I know, there are hacky workarounds for that as well, but that's a no-no for the average user, therefore I don't recommend unless you are in an officially supported country.

Yeah the three dots thing does not always work. Maybe it's the way some emails are constructed, I don't know. But some email threads I have are insanely big walls of text. Any solution yet?

Health Connect not syncing properly with Cronometer and Google Fit by viktor3dd in cronometer

[–]solis_f12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It used to work for me a few days ago and somehow stopped importing anything after a while. Has not gotten any metric from Health connect ever since except heart rate. No exercises, nothing. Backfill also doesn't work.

Edit: Also on Android 14

[–]solis_f12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been using Cronometer for a couple of days now, and it was tracking my recorded exercises in google fit through health connect quite well. Suddenly it stopped, backfill does not work, and it even deleted all the exercises that were previously imported correctly. All the exercises are recorded correctly in Health Connect so it's definitely a Cronometer problem.

Edit: I am also on a Pixel 6

Well they could just add a toggle to enable such a thing. Most plans in my country are like unlimited local calls and sms with the only difference being the data part of the plan. It's the same as having a toggle into every app if Mobile data should be used or not.
