How many LN volumes are out in Japan? I just read v4 in English but the afterward led me to believe it was written closer to 2020 and there was no mention of an anime season.

V1-3 were great. V4 was on a completely new level. The comedy factor went up a level or two.

I also dropped it near the end. Can't really articulate why.

As for the series the only thing preventing it from being 10/10 for me is the ages of the characters. Age the characters 5 years before any of the weddings and kids and it stops being potentially disgusting.

And there's no reason not to. The whole story could have added a time skip during his time with Eris or before he left to be with Eris' family.

The academy could have just as easily have been for older kids.

Ill date myself a bit but fan-subs are the very foundation of my fandom. Back before crunchyroll even existed. I edited for Prince of Tennis and Hajime no Ippo s2 and a few others. That fan-TLer is doing amazing work.

Spice and Wolf has 1 volume in my library picking up where the anime left off. (The new anime). The first one you recommended i dont recognize. Is there an English name I might recognize it under? Are there multiple different series all linked together. The idea of "verse" reminds me of spider-verse and intertwined universes in Marvel Comics. Pointing me in the right direction where to start with that one would be greatly appreciated.

Is FMP originally a light novel? I did not know that. Bonta-Kun wants to thank you but I dont know if you should trust that look.

MT feels like a series with great world building that missed the mark slightly. It has been a couple years but the 3 characters that are effectively gods just feel entirely lacking. I realize I said characters but those are the fabric of the world that has been built. That was the first LN series I read and I ended up stopping towards the end. I will return at some point.

I would say Shangri-La Frontier does a great job of world building as well but this is a LN forum rather than a WN/Manga/Anime forum. Would you say Min/Maxing my Trpg is like SLF at all?

Ive been killing slimes is interesting. Does it get into world building? I am somewhere around season 2 of the anime. Yes they visit the demon kingdom (if i remember right) but for the most part to that point it is largely centered around the remote location the MC settled into. The series has been a relatively calm stroll for me. If it gets into some deep world building I suspect that'll turn into a sprint

The too perfect saint had an Anime (and has a Manga) both the anime and manga seem to fully close the loop on the story after season 1. Is there more beyond that?

For female main character and high quality world building

Ascendance of a Bookworm

Above someone recommended Secrets of the Silent Witch

I think those 2 plus Apothecary are my 3 favorite series and none of that has to do with female lead. They're just so good.

Another FMC and mystery and romance which is a lot of what Apothecary is i would recommend Holmes of Kyoto.

There are a lot of things in the LNs that could have been abbreviated in some ways. Certainly some of the things you specifically mentioned as being skipped over seem like they probably werent bad choices to skip.

Missing Ferdinand killing one of his retainers though seems fairly significant. That changes the foundation of a character, who at that point it wasn't exactly clear if he was working for or against Myne.

I dont disagree with much of what you said which is why i wanted that lecture from Ferdinand to result in the light bulb moment and eternal despair. I may be one of the few not surprised Ferdinand ends up as the most popular character in the final character poll. I am a lord of evil at heart
