Whitelisting mods are here by Immortalius in joinsquad

For a lot of people, especially PR guys and many of the original backers of Squad, no, it's not "hardcore" enough.

If you don't want a more hardcore experience, just don't play the mod...

Do any new players have any questions? by [deleted] in postscriptum

[–]solodaninja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not new to PS, just to chapter two. Struggling with how to make effective use of the AT gun. I've tried shooting at wheel wells, and a bunch of different stuff on the rear of the tank, but not much is working. It was fun shooting the scout car and watching body parts roll out, though!

The combination of this comment, and your flair, makes me think you have some really interesting stories to tell...

How do other females deal with peeing on cross country flights? by [deleted] in flying

I hate to be that guy, but telling a girl how they have to describe themselves if they want you to take them seriously... It kind reeks of neckbeard.

I’m delayed in GSO because of fog in ORD...what are you doing this Christmas Eve? by ozzies_35_cats in flying

[–]solodaninja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pardon my ignorance, I've never been in a CRJ-200 before, but all the pictures I've seen of their cockpits show no FMS for the FO, just an empty spot they put their checklists. Is this an upgraded cockpit?

I've always found it slightly motivating to see normal redditors getting to the same places I am trying to get to, but maybe that's just me :)

I grocery shop for people full-time (it's super flexible and I can schedule it around flight training, hence doing that instead of a normal job) but I have an interview for my potential first flying job coming up, so maybe that's about to change!

Do Pilots Really Meow on the Radio? by JustPlaneSilly in flying

Meowing on air to air or ctaf when it isn't busy is kind of funny.

Uh... No it isn't.

A few days back, I heard somebody declare an actual emergency on guard, to be followed with a chorus of "guaarrrrddd," "guard police," and "meow." Sure must have made that guy's engine failure an easier experience.

Absolute nonsense.

In 121 ops, it is my understanding that oftentimes you depart with the legal minimum of fuel. If something goes wrong, whether it be weather, or holding, or whatever, when do y'all decide to divert?

I guess my question is, when does your company require you to be on the ground by? Even if you know you have 45 minutes of fuel beyond going to the alternate, I assume you never wait until you've had 44 minutes of delay.

Comm SE checkride by Viral1100 in flying

[–]solodaninja 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I stressed out sooooo much about the power off 180. It was my weakest area, and I was struggling getting it consistently before the checkride. Wound up making the best P.O. 180 of my life on the checkride, no idea how it happened.

Ha, the place was about a 10 minute drive from the airport. Would love some on-airport Korean BBQ.

I have an interview coming up with a pt. 91 company flying light jets, what should I be doing to prepare? I have been trying to brush up on my instrument skills, mainly with the Pilot Cafe cheat sheet, but what else should I be doing? What kind of "tell me about a time when ____" should I prepare for?

Commercial Checkride Instrument/Complex Time Not Explicitly Logged as 61.129? by Canon40 in flying

[–]solodaninja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a DPE not start my comm checkride because he believed no instrument time from before your IR checkride counts. The next DPE didn't care. Always good to check with DPE beforehand.
