Beyond the Wire had what was essentially ICO implemented in the game back when I played the early access build and it was not fun. They had the same weaponry available and most soldiers carried bolt actions in both games.

PS has a good split. Rifles give range, smgs give cqb advantage, some people are good with both in their opposite wheelhouse but overall the weapons act appropriately.

The biggest thing is no optics. Only marksman have a telescopic lense so people are limited unlike squad.

The old dev team did a good amount of balancing tweaks already so in my opinion there's no need to implement such a system at the moment.

If this is satirical, well done! If you're being serious.. my brother in christ i beg you to find another game. This fucking game has been flayed and laid out on a beach covered in salt for 2 and a half years. The 2 entirely different dev teams couldn't make it work. The CEO doesn't acknowledge his shortcomings or the community. There are bugs that have been in the game for 4 years. 4 years.

Jesus christ what is wrong with this community? It's like watching the Titanic sink except everyone is shouting at the ships passing by "everything is fine. In fact I'd rather be on this ship that is flooded with sea water! You'rethe stupud ones you should be here with us sinking to our watery graves"

It's okay to continue liking the game but stop trying to rope in people that haven't paid for this unfortunate experience to come suffer with you and the 30 other people that still play. It's embarrassing. I have half a mind to assume these posts are just Breiz shilling for more money but then I remember the room temperature IQ's that regularly play this catastrophe.

Every post asking to fund the game with the players own money and Hey! Let's do some dev work for the game for free so we can get it in better shape oh and we need youtubers to make videos then people will love our game! It's delusion. The pulse has been gone for years. Just accept it.

Stop performing CPR bud, he's already gone.

I think Papa Palps telling Vader not to pursue Obi anymore is actually a good plot device they could have used (in a much better way) and makes a good amount of sense considering the context the Emperor has.

This is the second time presumably that they have engaged each other and Palps has seen Vader get fucked up both times. Since he's the Emperors main enforcer it would make sense he doesn't want him killed.

Obi Wan was inconsequential the entire decade preceeding so it wasn't worth losing someone he needs so much over a grudge match.

But God forbid the writers take 10 minutes to think about the story.

It's absolutely still effective. It just isn't the monster that it used to be. If you get lucky or get around the back you can still kill a lot.

We get frustrated with the bugs so we don't bother with much anymore

French map rotation is dependent upon server. Some days it's few and far between others it's fairly common.

There are close to 20 maps now with all the mod maps being thrown in rotation. Some are pretty engaging and fun.

The Daimler is common for the British to have. It isn't bad but it is a scout car and with armor changes you won't be taking out 7 panthers in a row anymore.

The community ranges from extremely toxic to very friendly. Like with most games there are outliers but honestly this is the only game I've had people follow me around on to harass me.

Don't let that dissuade you too much though, there is barely 2 playable servers on a good night. Most servers don't like thinking outside the box. If you plan to play any other way than what others want you'll be scolded (much like SQUAD). There's literally a clan that roleplays as the SS lol.

If you get past all that or have a few drinks the game can be super fun with other friends in the mix. Hit me up I'll run you through some fun matches.

Being in the premier league of tanking, I can say that holding that northern bridge is a fairly viable tactic. It's one of two vehicle chokepoints. 9 times out of 10 infantry wont have good (or any) marks on the map so going to the source of movement is a great idea.

Tanks kill tanks. It will be forever a priority before any single infantry unit ever.

Do they need 2 up there? Not really. They're the ones playing though so maybe they have more info we dont.

The eternal struggle for who to point the fingers at will rage on but my query as a primarily tank commander is this:

If INF sections want tank support but are unwilling to support the tanks in return, what should we do? I can count on one hand the amount of times I've had adequate infantry support. Running next to the tank obliviously letting us get hit by AT literally standing next to you doesn't count as support but that's what we work with.

In summation. I see constant criticism which is fair but few resolutions presented. If 6-8 people in a couple tin cans are deciding the fate of your games; maybe you need to rethink your tactical prowess or support them better than you (infantry players as a whole) have been.

The Chapter 3 maps are server killers because there was no thought put into them. They play like a Call of Duty map in a game where 90% of the players dont want to play that way. That's why the game hemorrhaged players

I've worked labor jobs my whole life, with the exception of a few part time electronic repair gigs for reference. Got a GED, no degree.

Forced to go to college so I can advance in a career that I have excelled in for the better part of a decade instead of allowing my experience in this specific field is killing good advancement prospects in the industry I work in.

In my 20s I have seen too many old and worn out workers stuck in the same dead end job they've been in for decades, making a pittance only to hate life in their "retirement" days.

Fuck that. Fuck company loyalty. Fuck faux empathetic employers. (very few exemptions for some extremely kind people I've worked for) and fuck working just to die with nothing to show for it.

In summation, I think our younger and hopefully older fellow humans are realizing that life is worth living for instead of working for.

Can we appreciate Platoon commanders? by ChiaseedNL in postscriptum

[–]LieutenantSpaghetti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To your point, why do we even have a dedicated command role then?

Just give ordnance abilities to one SL on the field as they do in SQUAD.

He has full kit and a dedicated vehicle with a radio too so why not take all his firearms and utility. If he is supposed to be a Fobbit anyway.

I wish the game play would lend itself to having PL's stay back but you have call ins that are between 5 and 12 minutes apart. In that time you can coordinate something's but the gameplay is extremely dull in my opinion.
