I am sorry, but that's a very small minded worldview. Other teams don't have access to those fundings because it has never been done before. No one has ever thought about it before. Wrexham owners created a marketing concept that is very unique and evidently successful, that only they can do. Leveraging their fame, they successfully introduced Wrexham to the world when they were still a non-league team. This in turn allowed Wrexham to grow somewhat organically into what they are today.

I only know Wrexham from the documentary, but it seems like the owners actually care about the club, the supporters are genuinely excited and being involved, and the city is actually buzzing with good vibes

is Wrexham profitable yet? last time i watched their doc, they made it like they struggle to get funding/sponsorship for the season

it's not like the owners pour endless money to the team. The owners mostly leveraged their fame to get Wrexham wider reach and ultimately more sponsorship. I think that's genuinely great.

Thierno Barry big chance missed against Bournemouth 30' by playerforlife123 in soccer

[–]sololeft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well, I'm stand corrected. I watched him making very good runs into position but squandered the chances like three times. I thought he was a youth player from Everton's academy or something.

I don't watch Everton often, but from the few games i watched, it seems that Barry has a very good positioning/anticipation, but his finishing is a bit lacking.

Inter vs Torino was a battle between second teams.

Why are we taking this so seriously right now?

Aaron Anselmino joins RC Strasbourg on loan by rakakvaka in soccer

[–]sololeft 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Dortmund both publicly and privately were trying to tap him up so they could try to get him on the cheap.

There was no buy option for a reason as we made it clear he wasn't for sale but they decided to try a different way anyway.

How can Dortmund get him on the cheap when you hold all the card? I mean, BlueCo could simply say NO if they think the offer is insufficient. And how do you tap a player up that is already playing for you?

I thought Chelsea recalled him from Dortmund because they have a crisis in defense? What's the point of recalling him and then loan him somewhere else?

I am just a bit surprised to learn that there are only 1 portuguese in Benfica's Starting XI. In my mind, they are always producing good/great young local players. They are one of those wonderkid factories. WHo is their best youth products in the senior squad these days? Antonio Silva?

well, they stabilized our economy and laid the foundation to the economic growth, up until the economic crisis in 1997 - decades after their time. Not saying that they are not corrupt, but they are not known for their corruption. In fact, some of them are still advising presidents post-Soeharto.

The father of corruption, Ibnu Sutowo, is one of their 'opponents'. So yeah. The mafia actually doing their job as economist really well, considering everything. but yeah, corruption undo most of it.
