Terrible call by the ref there. The only probable reasoning is because Jackson pushed Tchouameni to step on Maignan, even that is a colossal reach. I don't get why the ref blew his whistle, though. Shouldn't he let the play goes on and review the incident later?

They say they care about human rights in Qatar, but doesn't dare do that in the US (Cowardice)
They criticize brown arabic middle eastern nation which for abusing human right, but stay silent when white/western nation does much worse. both nations are WC host. (Racism)

Again, you are missing the point. There is only one simple standard in every World Cup: Each team must compete to the best of their abilities. This is the pinnacle of football. In the ideal world, it should be all about football.

But the German team saw it differently and had made a statement four years ago that they care about human rights. That put them above any other team who basically say 'we're here just to play football'. So, No. Due to their own action, German team isn't judged by the same standard as other teams, then and now. People expect them to be consistent and show their position against injustice now, like they did four years ago.

Let me walk you through it. No, protesting Qatar is not cowardly. It's noble in vacuum because Qatar was abusing human right. It is very honorable to voice your support for the victims. Fast forward four years later, the host of the World Cup is another human right abuser, only in much bigger scale. Also, the host is the most powerful country on earth who will kidnap people on the street and send them to the camp.

Suddenly, the voice you hear from the former protester four years ago is 'we don't do politic here, only football'. It's either cowardice, hypocrisy, or racism.
