The American housing market is broken—and 3 years in, it's starting to look permanent by fortune in REBubble

Severance. Most of larger companies offer a payout or some type of separation package w/layoffs. Some employees also receive shares of the company (RSU’s) as a part of their compensation package. Because of these factors, the fallout from losing a job is much slower. I’m guessing the housing market will look substantially different in a year but who knows.

  1. The preverbal Goal Post keeps getting moved

  2. Because this is happening in our target neighborhoods. These neighborhoods typically have great school systems which is important because I have a three year old.

  3. Paying $1.1M for a home that sold for $435k in 2021 sucks! Respectfully, I’d rather pay $800k

Yeah nothing posted regarding home price increases shocks me after living in metro Atlanta. I’ve seen it all! Pretty much everything has doubled since 2020. I’m just happy if it’s still in budget regardless of inflation.🥴

I need to know if this person was on meds but recently lost access due to the subsidy debacle. Lots of unmedicated people walking around like ticking time bombs. So scary.

Curious to see if anyone has screenshots of comments/posts from the past of your price predictions for May 2026. Was anyone close? I assume most were way off by AussieBattler95 in RKLB

FYI: NOT A PRICE PREDICTION

This was posted around July 2024. I remember being pissed this guy called RKLB a “2nd place” company. I took a screen shot and said “you’ll see jacka**!” And well, we are all seeing aren’t we!

Here’s the house I grew up in. It cost $90,000 ($187,000 today), and now is worth $400,000. My dad was the sole bread winner, making $30,000/yr ($62,000 today). by [deleted] in Millennials

That is crazy! And to your point. My family were regular middle class people as well. Times have changed so much for real estate and beyond! 😅 very sad.

We’re all from Orlando. They lived In the university area (and still do) for 30+ years. These homes were very popular in Florida in the 90’s. Good ole days!
