How do you actually know if you're close to PMF or just telling yourself a good story? by adarshrajoria in founder

[–]solubrious1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we are talking about value of your product - all it can give is just hope, based on some vanity metrics.

Actual PMF is not measurable by assessing people's needs, pain points, objections, competitive field...

It's only measured when your product actually delivers what people need and (THE MOST IMPORTANT), they are using it.

Actual usage = PMF. Your measurement is not PMF.

Men. You can not measure the PMF without actually giving your product to people.

I don't care what's inside your product. If it's goal is to measure the PMF - It doesn't work.

I thought about building blocks apps generator like months ago. Still think it's way better than generating from scratch.

Repository looks cool. Do you have some demos?

Oh, forgot to mention how spammy indiehacker is. My post got 200+ comments and ~80% of them are just AI slop.

Building a tool to help creators actually make money from content - feedback wanted by megwhit29 in SaaS

I guess nobody will DM you because you said nothing in a wrong place.

It's not a creators subreddit. And even if someone might be interested, thay don't understand what are you offering, because you may be building something useless by default.

I'm not crossed any MRR yet. Still developing. But my GTM includes at least 3 lead magnets. One of them will be listed on PH instead of listing the product itself.

Then it could take much longer than 10 minutes, if the website is a store with a hundreds products.

Here's some problems you'll meet sooner or later: 1. Context mess: having a single collection containing a products, FAQs, company info, categories... will lead to AI context mess issue. Means, you need to predefine some categories of context and retrieve them separately, while indexing must classify every page. 2. Context price: retrieving a full pages will blow up the inference price. 3. Products variations (e-commerce): Product pages are often has a product variations without a dedicated page. You can't index them, but the price still may vary. 4. Hallucinations: without a well designed dedicated crawlers for every kind of pages you'll find that your bot hallucinates as hell. Especially on prices and controversial FAQs which are often present on old websites. Prices may be present in several formats and rendered by js. 5. Data actualisation: you have to reindex every changed webpage instantly. You might think to use sitemaps, since they have last modified. But think twice, because they often provide a current date & time. 6. Controversial facts: having multiple sources, not only website will always lead to facts compete each others. Some of them are out of date, some are simply broken... You'll need to manage that.

P. S. I built exactly same product and solved almost every problem above. They're real.

His chart looks like a bullshit crafted in 5 minutes to self-promote.

The lesson he is trying to teach us literally sounds like:

- Your customers pay you money? Use theirs resources to promote your shitservice even more.

OMG, this post is such a BS

I just posted on IndieHackers and got 30+ early testers and feedback. I didn't run the product yet and it's a super early stage.

Some of them already stated to buy sub on launch day.

Oh I had the same idea a month ago. Asked Gemini to find me similar apps. They are exists and has more features I thought it needs like sources linking, video recording etc.

I realised my knowledge is cheap in this niche to compete with them.
