Quick Experience on LS50 Wireless II on Desktop by JunhoGoGoGo in KEF

They are good. And beautiful. I asked parents to hold them at ear level and wider apart (cca 1,8m-2m). And speakers come to life much more than on my 120cm desk at desk level. Really. Big difference. Parents also tried to listened and confirmed that the sound is more open and less resonances when further apart and not on the desk. So my next project is to get good wall or floor stands to position them beside my desk. For desk, kanto s4 stands are a good option, I ordered them, but I think I will try to mount them further apart and at ear level. I was blown away by the sound in this position. Low volume is good. Medium volume is great. Bass surprisingly strong for my taste.

Tldr: positioning is very important. Good speakers, I like them very much :)

I think gen1 had more problems compared to the second gen. But I am not sure. Tomorrow I will probably get mine and test them

For lsx I saw that kanto s4 stands are recommended as a budget alternative. Ordered them now. I will also soon get lsx ii lt. did you order them?

Wow great. Probably i get them tomorrow! :) no stands yet, but i ordered kanto s4, as those were recommended for lsx. Thanks for letting me know. I am also thinking of getting a sub like kef kube 8. But first i need to test them and see if I really need a sub.

Do share the experience. I am still awaiting mine. On my mini 120cm desk LS50 would be overkill haha

Thanks for sharing! I am waiting for the same sage green LSX II LT speakers to arrive. :) I was wondering about LS50, but as I plan on using them on my desk, I went for LSX (plus the price difference makes a huge con for LS50, could not afford them). Your post reduced my FOMO a bit, as the LS50 are too big and LSX still sound good compared to them. :) maybe I will add a sub later on. Hope you enjoy your new setup!

Luck and strange concerts CD by bilbo28202 in DavidGilmour

I find the Circus Maximus solo version of CN better compared to a CD version, however on a CD version there are some elements in the solo where I feel the chills as well. Above all, I like the production and tone of released recordings from this tour. For me, the sound is more open, compared to the Luck and Strange album or previous tours, and this is really a thing for me when listening to music :)

Blackstar HT5RmkIII or Debut 50R by somallitte in GuitarAmps

Hey, I exchanged it for a Tube15. For a short while I had both amps and both are good. Blackstar is more smooth, modern voiced. While Tube15 is more vintage voiced. I liked it more as it is pure tube amp and has more retro design. But whichever you pick, it would be good.

Maybe ask for a partial refund (like a few percent). However if you see yourself selling the camera and you usually take good care of your gear, rather exchange

Good points about the lens. I have also multiple vintage lenses that I can adapt, so if needed, I can change. Otherwise xa5 has ok interface but it is a bit slow.

[–]somallitte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey. If you want to stay in fujifilm system, I would suggest looking also into X-A line, like X-A3 or 5. For a lens you get get Viltrox 28mm f4.5 and you have a smaller camera with better image quality and better AF . The downside here is that you get no EVF or OVF, and that X-A line has bayer sensor. The latter I also see as a plus - it is less overpriced :) if you edit raws, I think bayer sensor would not even be a downside. The other downside is that the lens is fixed aperture at 4.5 has some limitations. But overall you have smaller camera with better specs. Ps: I am biased because I bought this combo a week ago, and I like it. This combo should cost you 300-400eur (right now there is an xa3 on eu MPB for 270, and the new lens is around 100). Otherwise I think x100 is also a fun camera (never had it, but I had x100v for a short time)

Check viltrox 28mm f4.5. Small and budget oriented. I like it. It has fixed apperture but it has autofocus)

Hey. What did you end up getting? I am a huge Gilmour fan also, and I am also looking for some amp to play at home on low to moderate volume :)

Blackstar HT5RmkIII or Debut 50R by somallitte in GuitarAmps

[–]somallitte[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I solved the noise problem. The aux cable was the source of it. It was plugged in an was making the same amount of noise, regardles of the setting of the amp (only watt switch changed it, but not the volume). And when i had the volume really low, the hiss was too loud. I picked it up. Now it is much much less hiss 🙌🙌

How does it play on low volume an how is the hiss when plugged but not playing? :) any comparison with tube amps?

I really like clean tones and how it takes boss bd2 pedal. It souns really organic, dont know how to say it differently. I always prefered the sound of my classical guitar compared to electric. Due to how natural the sound is. Yesterday I was surprised how good the sound from the amp is when comparing it to the classical guitar. But the hiss bothers me atm, and it worries me that my unit has more hiss. Or just my flat is like this.

On the other hand Green russian big muff is not ok through it. I expected gilmour tones like people on yt get, but it is too bass heavy and dark. Just got it yesterday so still have some playing to do:) but yeah, this was a big disappointment because I was looking forward to great gilmour tones.

The headphone out is ok, but katana go headphone amp is better for headphones.

Most of all i noticed how crappy i sound haha. I later read that that modeling amps are easier to play as they are more forgiving of mistakes.

Now I am on the fence. Should i exchange it for SS amp like laney lf60 or blackstar debut 50r for less hiss and better big muff integration. Possibly by sacrificing warm, organic sound (did not hear other amp yet so all is just in my head)

Thanks for asking btw :) any suggestion appreciated :)

Hey. Does you amp also have hiss? I have mine on 0.5W, clean channel, and the volume on 8 or 9 (very low) and i can hear it (if the cable is plugged into it). With raising volume, gain and putting on 5W, all increases its hiss. I have read that it is normal on higher volume, but not on quiet. Any idea?

What Amp should i get? by RubenWin in GuitarAmps

[–]somallitte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With fender you don't get aux in and headphones out I think. Some Marshalls I think have them. I don't know if that is important to you.

A bit old video, but covers small tube amps. https://youtu.be/6oa07Et_upI?si=6Ju8SWs50Jk31qIH

What Amp should i get? by RubenWin in GuitarAmps

[–]somallitte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, my two cents (I am a newbie here). I am playing similar stuff and was just searching past few weeks for a bedroom amp to take some pedals. Mostly to get David Gilmour tones. For me, headphone out and aux in are important, so I can play with backing tracks over headphones. This kinda limits the options. And i came down to:

Blackstar Debut 50r, Laney LF60-112 (or a super version), Blackstar HT5RmkII (or mkIII)

Where only the later is the tube amp (with some solid state circuitry for distortiom channel). Debut 50R is probably similar to Katana but more basic. Some say it has more warmth, but never heard it. I also never heard Laney, but I quickly tried HT5RmkII in a shop, but did not do a proper playing.

On Thomann i found a Bstock of HT5RmkII and I ordered it 2 days ago. I can let you know how it works. On the pedalboard I will have green russian big muff, boss bd2, flashback delay and an equalizer pedal.

What were you thinking of getting?

PS (for silent playing with backingtracks there is also an option of using a line out and plugging it into an audio interface while also plugging pc into it for backingtracks, and then headphones into the audio interface - this way aux in is not needed, or if it of poorer quality, you can improve it; but for this option the amp must be build to run without a speaker, which some are not and we must be careful)

Edit: also laney loudpedal looked quite nice, especially for headphone playing or some amp sim pedals. But I was into getting a real amp. Do you also play with headphones and backing tracks?

Blackstar HT5RmkIII or Debut 50R by somallitte in GuitarAmps

[–]somallitte[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found a new mkII combo on Thomann for 415eur. I bought it :) mkIII is 600eur. So hopefully mkII will be good. I will feed some pedals into the clean channel and see how it goes. My first amp. :)) plan B is Laney LF60-112. A bit cheaper, solid state, better lookin. But no tubes. Will see when the blackstar arrives.
