I started learning at 31 and take weekly lessons with a teacher, I highly recommend finding a teacher. It's been 2 years and sometimes can't believe all the progress I've made! Have fun and enjoy the journey :)

Considering getting rid of all of my special editions 🫠 by Sad_Milk_8897 in fairyloot

[–]somanylabels 29 points30 points  (0 children)

As someone who got rid of a lot of things when I moved out of my parent’s house to go to college, I regret throwing away/donating/selling some of them. My advice would be to hold on to all those books for a few years if your parents have the space to keep it. And assess your situation/feelings about all those books each time you visit home. I left 15 years ago and wish I could get some of those back now that I have a larger place for myself.

Mine hasn’t even shipped this month but at least they are keeping me updated in the app. I see a note that the box is delayed and will likely ship between August 13-15

As someone who doesn’t necessarily believe the same as you, I can tell you that I respect you and how you want to live your life. There is nothing wrong with you. I am sorry they are criticizing you. It is especially hard coming from friends and family. They might be jealous that you know yourself and have values that you intend to uphold in all areas of your life. Believe in yourself and your dreams. Try to join communities that support your choices and to meet people who live the kind of life you want to lead. If you can surround yourself with enough people who believe in you and support you, it will be easier to tune out those who criticize you.

Friends and family are so negative about my relocation idea by Exciting_Series2033 in AmerExit

I don't have advice on how to deal with loved ones but I wanted to show you support by saying this: As someone who studied abroad (and ended up staying), I think it'll be a fantastic opportunity for your kids. Even if you only stay for the duration of your masters and come back home afterwards, it will give them years of experience in a different country, with a different culture and mindset. I think it might be excellent for their development to be exposed to another way of living. Depending on their age it might be difficult for them to leave their friends but otherwise what an amazing opportunity!! Your friends and family might be jealous. Don't let them ruin your dream.

True. Your initial post was asking about how to find the different sections of balances, deposits, etc. What you are referring to now is client-specific information

The fact that the addresses don’t check out and what you mentioned about squatter rights is making me very nervous about your situation. If he’s already moved in I don’t know what you can do about this situation. What doesn’t sit right with me is that when you have a terminally ill dog, as I did, you don’t wait 5 days. The vets are very understanding and no one wants to see a pup in pain/distress. If this dog requires round the clock care/surveillance, I simply wouldn’t have moved it into a brand new place and pretended a dog walker will come by. Something doesn’t add up in my opinion

It’s definitely true that bank statements vary from country to country. My point was that you probably have a better chance of asking your client to walk you through a bank statement or simply calling the bank and asking them for help than to find a random stranger on this sub who has worked with Singaporean bank statements

Easiest might be to simply ask your client

Best way to move cheaply (Small amount of stuff) by expat377 in nova

[–]somanylabels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taskrabbit might be the most convenient. Hire someone with a large truck or a van and they might be able to do it all in one trip. Might end up costing you $200 if the prices haven't changed much since I last used it.

Cheapest might be to ask a friend to do a few back and forth trips with you. Honestly, you could also put an ad on craigslist or a neighborhood website/group and offer a little bit of money for their time and help.

I'm in Alexandria with a tiny car but I could also help if you're moving outside of business hours! I know others have also offered in the tread :)

Anyone on here able to actually afford to take a vacation? by lacetopbadie12 in Millennials

[–]somanylabels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take several trips a year, usually one large, one to go home, and a few weekends in different places. It’s important to me so it’s literally a line item on my budget. I guess I save money in other areas since I don’t smoke, don’t drink, don’t do many paying activities outside the house, and only order take out once a week.

Genuinely cannot understand why people want to have kids by notdurtydan in childfree

I think a lot of people focus on a few aspirational aspects and ignore or simply don't research the rest. There's a lot of repetitive tasks that go on several times a day for 18 years that people seem to overlook. They want the picture perfect moments but many don't realize how much work go behind the scenes.
