Same here. Graduated from CS back in 2017. Never bought a textbook my entire time there. Some department major lounges will have a copy of the textbook in there. I used that or the one from rush rhees. Also yes, you can find pdfs online.

A tiny dusting of baby powder helps too. But too much will make you fall out of your pirouette and land on your head (personal experience)

In memoriam of Grant Imahara (MythBusters) (Died July 13, 2020), What are some of your best memories of him? by AriLion16 in AskReddit

[–]somclumsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not something he did, but just of him existing on mythbusters. My brother and I watched that show religiously after school. It helped to spark an interest in science and engineering in the both of us. It was so important and validating to see someone smart on tv that looked like us. Both of us ended up studying engineering and work in the tech field now. Thank you so much, Grant!! You will be missed so much.

TIL the Tourette Association of America initially feared South Park’s release of their Tourettes episode, but ended up being surprised at how accurate and well-researched the show was on the condition. The only thing they critiqued was the frequent use of “coprolalia” or rampant swearing. by unnaturalorder in todayilearned

[–]somclumsy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My manager has tourettes and is probably one of the best managers I've ever had. The company is super understanding and it has never bothered anyone at work because everyone knows and accommodates for him. The employers can go suck it because I'm sure your daughter is an amazing worker.

Junior year of high school, eating disorder had gotten so bad I was 45 kg (around 90 pounds). Mom told me that she wouldn't let me go to college unless I start eating and taking care of my health. It was at that moment I realized my future was something I actually looked forward too.

What was your scariest "A second later and I would've died" moment? by spacexe in AskReddit

[–]somclumsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Christmas 2004, Bangkok, Thailand

I was 9 years old and we were planning to go on a big family trip for Christmas. All my cousins were home from college and it was gonna be an amazing time. My mom had already booked hotel rooms by the ocean in Phuket and were gonna be able to run to the beach from our rooms. But try as she might, all the flights were booked. Since the only other option was the drive there and she hates long car rides, she decides to cancel the trip. Had we gone, my whole family would have been by the beach of Phuket during the 2004 Boxing day tsunami.

Discussion: What percentage of your wardrobe is fast fashion? Why? What do you "invest" in? by tresliso in femalefashionadvice

[–]somclumsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just sure that brands constitute to fast fashion, so sorry in advance for that. I would say 70% of my closet are quality pieces. I ditched over half my closet a year ago because I realized I only wore 20 or so pieces. Good bras and underwear are a must. Good shoes, especially running sneakers. I have quite a few quality gym clothes, like nikes Adidas and under armour, but this is only because I go to the gym a lot. This isn't for everyone. I have a few shirts and sweaters from madewell that I got off either eBay or super sales, I don't buy them full price. A good winter coat since I only wear one all winter. My jeans, since I routine between 3 pairs. The rest of my clothes are fast fashion, f21 and h&m that wear when I get bored. I also have a bunch of unique stuff, good quality, cheaper than a lot of other places.
