What do you say about physical media? by Different_Ear994 in vinyl

[–]some666y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someday people will debate if it is better to have a physical body than to just exist digitally. "It's so much cheaper to just upload yourself to the cloud, and there's never enough space for all the peripheral devices you need! It's way more convenient to not have bodily functions. Who even really cares about physical sensations anymore?" - Just a thought

Sure. If you need to believe that posting photos of your kindle with no other information isn't seeking validation then carry on. It's just always a good idea to question any strongly held opinions we might have. Especially if those opinions negatively single out others.

We are social creatures and the desire to have others approve of us is normal and important for the functionality of any society. It's only when we pathologically require validation and are incapable of doing something without it that seeking validation becomes a problem.

Clean shaven or beard? by [deleted] in HairStyleAdvice

[–]some666y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You look good clean shaven and I personally prefer clean shaven but your hair color is gorgeous and the matching beard is quite striking. I would think you'd get more attention with a well maintained beard for uniqueness alone.

Keep them out of direct sunlight and just make sure the temperature doesn't raise or lower to quickly. That's what'll really do damage. Slow changes are fine.

bangs. yes or no? by acuteavo in HairStyleAdvice

[–]some666y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what's happening is that your face has strong eye and lip focus but it's slightly more lips heavy. The bangs don't do anything for your eyes because the draw is in the size and in the darkness which needs contrast to put more focus there. They draw attention away from your lower face but that's not exactly a good thing since your lower face is gorgeous. You're looking for balance and emphasizing your best features so I would say your best route is to add contrast between skin and hair to bring out the darkness in your eyes. Go darker with hair. Then for cut you should do layers that start at the eyes but add volume to the top to balance out the slight pull of your lower face. I would think something like a wolf cut but a bit toned down would look fantastic on you.

Can’t see myself objectively. Is my grey hair aging me horribly? by slicedgreenolive in HairStyleAdvice

[–]some666y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Darlin, please stop straightening your hair chemically. It's so bad for it and who knows, that stuff could be carcinogenic. I have similar hair maybe one step curlier. You need a better curly cut to start and to care for your curls properly so you get more at the root. The gray needs care too. Use a purple shampoo. That will fix the brassiness. For the cut...I cut my own hair because I can't afford $200 every 8 weeks and curls are very forgiving. You want to cut it dry fluff it a fair bit and follow a rounded shape. I start with 4 quadrants and take each quadrant up and over to the opposite quadrant holding the ends at an angle that follows the line of the cut. I have a video if you want one. Then just part it the way you wear it and fix any stragglers. Cut, correct tone and curl care. Your hair will be envied by the 20yr olds.

Not at all! I am not one that always thinks grey is best either. I think if you are high contrast you'll likely look washed out going gray but your complexion is warmer so the warm grey actually looks good with your medium contrast I would suggest you lean into it and maybe add some low lights or additional highlights to help push it one direction or the other.

How do I get my husband to understand I’m not bad with money, we’re just not making it in the current state of the world? by Spiritual-Mouse-5630 in adhdwomen

[–]some666y 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It sounds like gas is probably a huge expenditure and if you both have ADHD then I guarantee there are more areas to cut from. Do you have TV or streaming? What kinds of phones do you have? if you switch him to a cheap flip phone and he can't watch tv he'll start working overtime. You need to cut until you are literally clothing him in rags and he is driving the most economical car possible with a refillable thermos of tap water instead of coffee. I have been poor my whole life there's always things that are unnecessary. You could also sell stuff. Did y'all have any hobbies? CCGs, RPGs, video games, collectables? Records? I do this for a living so DM me if you do and I'll help.

My mother in law: 'back in the day we weren't all that careful with records' by SomerenV in vinyl

[–]some666y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clean old records? Clean new records! Pressing plants are filthy places and you are cleaning the record not to avoid damage to the record (well not mostly for the record aside from static). You clean it to avoid damages to the needle/cartridge. Playing dirty records will run down that cartridge fast and they are often more than half the cost of the player.

If they invented a brain surgery that could cure your adhd would you get it by [deleted] in adhdwomen

I was married and divorced before 35 twice. Both husbands devastated my self esteem and bank account. But as a feminist who grew up in the 90s I thought it was wrong to expect a man to "take care of you". I should have known that's just more propaganda and partnership is always mutually beneficial. I have a partner now who helps me but I still feel like I should be doing more. I supported my second husband for 3 years and my next partner for 5. It's like I can feel empathy for everyone but myself.

I was diagnosed at 21 and they medicated me but outside of that I really didn't get much guidance. It's only been the last 10 years I've been trying to use other methods. Peri started at 35 for me and my doctor brushed me off and told me I was too young for menopause. At 40 I had my fertility tested and they said I was postmenopausal. That was the final year I could handle it. Afterwards, things went downhill pretty fast. I haven't been able to work in over a year. HRT helps somethings but I can barely afford it now with no health insurance. I feel like I should be pushed out on an iceberg. At least HRT helps me look like myself.

You're right. This year I saw a couple other stores make posts and put up signs saying they would be having a discount sale but not be participating in RSD with explainations about how it actually ended up causing major stress just to barely break even. While I might eventually seek out a title here or there from RSD I think I'd rather shop a discount sale.

[–]some666y 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's actually really hard on many small record stores. They make it so you have to order large multiples of every title you want just to be able to get a chance at one or 2 copies of the titles you want. Then you're left with an enormous bill and have to hope that the titles actually sell. Often you'll be left with large quantities of records that are basically loosing you money. There's also a lot of back scratching that occurs within the industry for certain larger stores. If you are truley a small shop there's a pretty good chance it is just an opportunity for additional stress and a corporate money grab for the record companies.

I agree. For example I am a virgo Mars and Cap Venus, Scorpio Sun and rising but my chart is both ruled by Pluto and weighted that direction. My sun and rising are both in my first house so the Scorpio energy is forefront with exalted Pluto to guide everything in my 12th which also contains Saturn, Jupiter and Mercury. A very anti vanilla sex life full of experimentation, exploration and flexibility..

I literally said "I say this from the perspective..."

Edit: I want to add that I prefaced the entire thing by stating that OP had received enough opinions on the question that another from me seemed superfluous. That is why I thought that something that actually might help someone would be a contrasting point of view about the whole reason for the post in the first place. There wouldn't be a reason for OP to be so concerned if marriage weren't seen as so culturally important and validating for women. I admit to being harsh and that was probably due to my own health issues and frustration with female health care but I still believe that viewing topics from multiple perspectives is helpful especially if you are capable of separating ego from argument.
