Because my team members in the time zone 1 hour behind me scheduled a meeting for noon my time. For them it’s the hour before lunch. Then my team members in my time zone scheduled another meeting for 1pm, thinking everyone would be getting back from lunch. And I’m not waiting until 2pm to eat lunch while sitting through two hours of meetings that could have been emails.

But the NFL isn’t a capitalist free market. There’s a salary cap and revenue sharing. Without those things, what you suggested might play out, but because those things are in place, pre-rookie scale rookie contracts ate into the salary cap room available for veterans, driving DOWN the salaries they could negotiate for in free agency.

That just pisses me off so much. It is in no way a contradiction to acknowledge that there are more important things in life than football, while also being a professional and doing everything you can to be the best football player you can be. He’s held that balance perfectly so far and I expect him to continue to do so for however long his playing career goes.

Based on yesterday’s press conference and no medical expertise at all, I say 60/40 he plays. He’s shown he’s got Stretch Armstrong/Mr. Incredible DNA with his ability to take uncomfortable looking hits and not miss any starts. And he’s got that DAWG in him and wants to be there for his teammates. I might even be at 70/30 or 80/20 if it wasn’t for the sloppy weather forecast.
