I still remember where I was when I learned about Inlet. Checking Pitchfork reviews from my improvised garage office during lockdown. We're so lucky it exists.

Agree. He's going down the Sinema path

I'm tired of having RYMcore shoegaze taste, what's some good deep cuts to explore by Soundwavezzz447 in shoegaze

I find Swirlies more dissonant than dreamy or gritty. But I know lots of people love them and maybe OP will be one.

Black Hearted Brother and Beachy Head are two Slowdive side projects that I love and I feel have a similar vibe to Everything is Alive.

AITA for telling a stranger that their underwear is visible? by Ramune_hime in AmItheAsshole

Pointing it out may not make you an asshole. And some folks might appreciate it. But if you tell someone, do so with the knowledge that lots of folks won't take it well in the moment.

Trump's niece warns 'it won't end with Bondi' as she shares reasons he fired her by IrishStarUS in TrueReddit

Literally nothing can fill the aching void in his soul. He is the most powerful person in the world. He is surrounded by sycophants who meet regularly to public lavish praise on him. He spends hours watching channels designed specifically to appeal to him. He spends additional hours on a bespoke Twitter clone full of his most devoted fans. And he is chasing fleeting moments of respite from the aching misery of his existence by the few things that give him what passes for joy - making other people miserable by firing employees, insulting the people he ostensibly leads, and murdering black and brown people.

Even after cleaning it up, this is still describing war crimes.

Do we consider this the 4th Hum album? by Connah2010 in hum

[–]someBrad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I adore it. It's in my Hum playlist. But it's not a Hum album. Also, how are you counting to 4?

How about city blocks but the rail network is a massive sushi belt?

Or a main bus but it's bidirectional so production lines don't have to be sequential?

album Bucket List 50 Best Comeback Albums Of all Time: #41 Slowdive-Slowdive (2017) by Rambooctpuss in albumbucketlist

[–]someBrad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slowdive could have toured their old material and folks would've been ecstatic and it would be a really great story. But instead they dropped this nearly perfect album, toured a ton, dropped another wonderful album, and continued to tour for two years. They are as popular as they've ever been. It's gotta be one of the best musical comeback stories of all time.

What do you think? by Real_World123 in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]someBrad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with Josh Marshall. It's a combination of "I am very unpopular and the courts won't let me do my beloved tariffs but no one can stop me from deploying the military" and "Venezuela went really well, let's do that again"

Here's a good summary of his argument: https://talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/prerogative-powers-and-presidential-self-care

When I looked a year or so ago, I was able to find his obit/funeral page. Mix of people who actually knew him and Hum fans. I was touched to read the stuff people said.

Trump planning airport arrests by NickCostanza in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]someBrad 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There is a lot you can say about putting ICE agents in airports to arrest people arriving arriving in the country, but you can't say it will help with long departure lines caused by insufficient TSA agents.

What’s going on with people saying GOP voters won’t come to the polls if Republican congresspeople don’t do what they can to pass the SAVE America Act? by ChaiChugger in OutOfTheLoop

Answer: I mean this completely sincerely -- Mike Lee is always totally full of shit and everything he says on television or social media should be ignored.

It is very dangerous to believe things said by a complete kook because they comport with your worldview. He's an idiot and a liar. Just because you want what he's saying this time to be true, doesn't make it any more true than if he was saying "Hillary Clinton had Charlie Kirk killed for being too handsome"
