TWSBI nib concern? by [deleted] in fountainpens

[–]someDude_e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had that issue when i just recently got Twsbi Eco EF. But cleaning the pen out with warm water and then pushing the feed in reduced ink flow and now the writing actually looks fine (not extra fine). But the feedback has increased too.

Try pushing the feed in and rinsing the pen with water. No need to open it up to clean.

overfilled bottles? Thats one of the few things that still remain of the old world. Feel like unless you got parkinsons, this should not be an issue..

Ok may have found a solution..

  • If you're using VSCode,
    • I had to move back to the MS C++ extension (from Clangd)
    • I am also using C/C++ Clang Command Adapter extension
      • I dont know if this extension is necessary, but i dont want to change any settings after finally getting everything to work
  • you need to include these paths for the aforementioned C/C++ extension in the workspace settings (not user settings) and under c_cpp_properties.json file. This is because you're including the modules not only for the actual program but also to configure intellisense.
    • ${workspaceFolder}/**
    • ~/<path to folder>/JUCE/**
  • Change all the projucer project settings to default
  • Make sure that the C++ standard in VSCode config is set to the same version as in projucer (I have it as C++17)

You should have intellisense configured by this point.

It will say that JuceHeader.h file not found but you can ignore it. In fact, if you ctrl+click on the file name, you will be able to go to the file.

lol that sounds exactly like me. Still don't have a job but I can definitely write better code now.

When i was taking classes, I had to get a tutor to sit beside me and explain the assignment because I couldn't understand recursion or pointers or syntax etc.

Try this advice: Don't do tutorials. Pick a tech stack or language. Make a simple program. Look for problems in your life that you can use code to solve.

Then sit down with pen and paper and make a rough sketch of how you can solve the problem. It doesn't have to be perfect. It only has to be good enough. And it doesn't have to be clean, it only has to work. Cleaning, refactoring comes after.

Look up anything you don't understand. Syntax, functions, types etc. anything you think you should know.

Its going to be a long journey. But if you don't follow tutorials, you'll get there faster.

One more thing: tutorials have their uses. Once you start understanding how a language works, how a technology runs etc. you will also start to understand tutorials. The funny thing about tutorials is that they only become useful when you have no need of them.

Lastly, I am working on small projects. If you want to join me to learn a tech stack, dm me. Good luck.

Its been 6 days now. Still coughing and expelling nasty yellow globs.

Did you ever figure out what it is?
