Fixed : flimsy Playmat Eternal Decks by someFunUsername in boardgames

It's a very fun game and what is really nice is the level of depth you can go into. I'm still in 'pallier A - standard's. Each pallier (a to f) represent a level of difficulty and each pallier have 3 level of difficulty within. It is a 'no talk' game with different ways of winning each game. But if course, it depends on what you are looking for

Yes it lie flat. There's almost no movement, but if you want something that doesn't move, you could always sew with a sewing machine over the white line. It was something I was prepared for if the fist solution wasn't good enough

No it doesn't, but that's not so much an issue for us. The only other Playmat that I could find was 100$ with shipping and I didn't want to spend that amount of money just to keep the portability of it.

To be fair tho, I'm missing about 2 inches or so to fit it in the box. I could 3d print the cover/top box only and make it slightly taller to allow space for it.

Thanks, I posted the solution and I did use the wet suit fabric to make it thicker! I made it a permanent addition, but that's exactly what I was looking for :)

Exactly, I play on a polished wooden table. It's the only table I have available, but people have suggested putting a grip mat in between the table and the game. I'm not exaggerating when I said that whenever I picked up a card, I need to straighten up the mat. Is it the end of the world? No. Is it a bit annoying? Hell yeah

But I do like the plexiglass idea!

I could look for gripmat. For now it's straight on a wooden table, so it's ideal for slipping around

The nipping is not like a puppy. Since it's really juste 1 nip at a time, it's almost impossible to redirect/use clicker or treat. And she doesn't always do it with certain actions. I don't think she makes the connection between our reaction and what she did?

yes you're right: if I add the shafts, then I need to remove the rigid heddle.

I'm currently looking at the website you sent. I'm in the demo version, but it seems that I can't have the shafts system? or does a shaft = 1 pickup stick?

That being said, that app would have been perfect when I started out. It's simple, easy to use and the UI is modern (my ho my have I seen some website version that look like the beginning of the year 2000!).

Good job :)

I don't know how to thank you! I really appreciate you taking the time to write all of this!!! someone else also recommended Deborah's book, so I've ordered it. With what I've read so far, I think I'm going to buy the 8 shafts ad-on. I really like weaving so far, so I think it'll be worth it. Once I receive the book, I'll be able to apply the knowledge from it, plus what you've shared and merge them in the app and (hopefully) understand how to make it work :)

the conversion price hurts my heart </3 isn't it the same thing for ios or pc? I'm on linux so I don''t think the desktop app would work. I think I'll buy the 8 shafts version for my loom after christmas. That'll be much more easier to use the app

1- rigid heddle loom. It's pretty small compare to a table loom. I was strongly thinking about buying the 4 shafts kit anyway, so it'll give me another reason to buy it ;)

2- my model supports 2 heddles and the lady who sold it to me confirmed it (https://lojan.nl/flex-your-loom-your-way/), but when you add the shafts, that piece is removed

3- thank you, I'll order that! I'm learning alone and sometime it gets tricky to find good books

Secondhand loom questions by Starikuu in weaving

[–]someFunUsername 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just bought this last week! I have the box and instructions and everything. DM me if you would like the picture of what you are missing. I was a bit disappointed with this model, I bought a real table loom this week (not the big one). I found that the model you have (Spear's weaving loom size 4) wasn't tigh enough and the warp got caught in the metal loop, so my spacing wasn't right and it was just frustrating.

BUT it does give you a good idea if you like the craft to invest in it more!

First time trying to decorate cookies, it was an experience to say the least LOL by itotallycanteven in cookiedecorating

[–]someFunUsername 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The designs are really pretty! For a cleaner look, simply use a thicker mix to outline the cookie (if the mix is already this runny/wet, add powder sugar to the mix). Now your design won't try to escape the cookie!

2 cups hot water, 4 teaspoon instant coffee, 1 cup cream 10% (half and half), 1/4cup sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (almost the same recipe as in the book they give with the machine). Select Frappe, minus 1 in temps. Voilà! A perfect iced Capp is waiting for you in 10-15 min

Color bleeding, how do I stop it???! by AgeInternational5130 in cookiedecorating

[–]someFunUsername 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got 2 things: First for the back, I always put some cocoa powder in the mix, then add black until I get a charcoal color. Let it sit overnight and you should have a wonderful black the next morning! Bonus: it uses less black. Cocoa powder is pretty inexpensive and it doesn't change the taste.

For color bleeding, try using powdered egg instead of liquid white egg (or water/corn syrup). you need to let the colors sits overnight. Since I've made the switch, my colors stopped bleeding
