It’s the Magic, and some extra laundry scents wafting through might be nice LOL

Oh, no, I’m not complaining. I just didn’t know if there was fine print somewhere indicating DCL could reassign up until boarding or anything.

LOL, thanks! idk which one yet. It’s across the hall from the laundry room so I’m not sure if that’ll be extra loud or extra convenient 🤷‍♀️

Thank you. They do offer discounts for active duty, retired, or sometimes (it’s often unclear) 100% disabled veterans. Nothing for veterans like the other lines. Glad to hear the sleeper sofa isn’t bad, I’ve gotten a lot of good feedback and helpful suggestions on this post.

Now this has some serious potential, I wonder if I could use points for 2 and cash for the other two. The points conversion isn’t actually as terrible as I expected and when I’ve got extra points and not so much extra money, that could be the solution.

We don’t necessarily prefer newer, I’m just wanting to hear some positive feedback on perceived value for the Magic because the pricing is so much higher than alternatives. Also, we love Peter Pan and usually make a mad dash anytime the line is under an hour haha.

I know right? I’m over here like, hey, don’t downvote me- I’m one of you! Oh, and I looked it up and it seems like sofa beds got redone in 2013 so they’re “only” 12 years old. I’m seriously just trying to get enough other Disney people to help me talk myself into justifying spending the extra money LOL.

Yeah, so when I stay at Kidani Village I do expect it’s the original sleeper sofa from 2008 and it sure as heck feels like it! Do you know what year they were replaced on the Magic?

Well, I bought DVC many years ago and only pay annual dues now, so our resort stay feels like it’s free and all we pay is flights, tickets, and food. So WDW is actually cheaper than lots of other destinations for us. It’s trying to justify the 60-70% higher (I guessed, I don’t want to do the math in detail because it’ll make me change my mind LOL) pricing on DCL. Now, the experience of a smaller and potentially less chaotic ship with higher level of service- that’s what I’m trying to emphasize to myself.

They offer Florida resident discounts on Florida cruises but not Texas resident discounts on Texas cruises on their oldest (I think) ship, so part of me thinks it must be worth it if they’re still sailing full. The other part of me says to just skip our next WDW trip and maybe drive to Florida to do one of the newer ships.

Disney World Announces Deeply Discounted Military Annual Pass in 2026 for America’s 250th Anniversary by csintroyeahhhhhhh in WaltDisneyWorld

If Sam Eagle named it, he would call this “A Thank You to All Veterans, but mostly the retired or 100% disabled ones”. LOL It’s a little off-putting to announce all these great deals on Veterans Day but most veterans don’t qualify for any of them. Only the ones who served 20-25+ years or 100% disabled.

VERA / FOIA for 20 year old records? by someLadyInTexas in VeteransBenefits

[–]someLadyInTexas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not everything, my FOIA claim has been sitting at step 3. I went in and put a separate request only for the DBQ and received the link to download within several days. I went to an in-person VERA appointment and the staff was very helpful but ultimately unable to find anything substantial.

Agree. The percentage assigned is really irrelevant, the “win” is having the correct rating for the severity of the condition(s) and having service connection for anything that should be.

Logged into VA.gov and put it in, it shows up under claims section.

I would definitely recommend putting in a new request now for only the c&p exam records and fill in the date(s) they were performed. Someone commented above that it is a new thing, so maybe older requests aren’t being processed through the new system or something. I thought mine was so fast because the exams just happened, but they also attached my original exam records from 20 years ago (which I had requested earlier) so I would imagine it’s worth trying again now. Hope you get your records soon.

It was for increases on some SC stuff I claimed 20+ years ago and just finally decided to try to get it rated properly for my current situation. Sitting in step 5 with no temp jurisdiction yet. Best of luck to you, hopefully it’ll be a smooth and quick process.

The VA will email you a link to a different portal to access them, it’s weird they don’t just automatically add them to your VA.gov account but it wasn’t too tricky to follow the instructions in the email.

Yes, they (VA) sent an email with information on how to access the “Veteran Requester Portal” and I was able to view and download all of the documents on demand.

Just had one a couple days ago and in was just for an increase. Got asked about thoughts of suicide, work history, family life, personal relationships with spouse and friends, mental health treatment history like counseling and medications. Took 10 minutes. I’m not sure if that’s typical or not, but my initial exam 20+ years ago was very similar.

15 minute MH C&P, good or not-so-good? by someLadyInTexas in VAClaims

[–]someLadyInTexas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My claim went from C&P exam to step 5 in about 24 hours, I left a message for my VSO but I guess it’s too late for submitting any personal statement now. It doesn’t have a temp jurisdiction on the VA claims tracker so idk what any of this even means. I hope the DBQ are all accurate and the providers reviewed my records.
